The release of season 13 of Apex Legends is set to drastically change the game's meta. Not only is there a brand new Legend by the name of Newcastle, but there is also a number of gameplay changes including buffs and nerfs to some of the game's most popular weapons and map changes.
There is also an unexpected change included that involves how players can utilize the "out of bounds" areas and it's a change that will alter how many play Apex Legends forever.
Apex Legends “Out Of Bounds” Zone Change in Season 13
Nestled at the bottom of the Apex Legends Season 13 patch notes as changes to the way being in an "out of bound" area will in the game.
For those unaware, "out of bounds" is not the same as being out of the zone, but instead encompasses certain areas high up on the map that the game forces you to move from by giving you tick damage when inside. When in these zones, you will see text flashing on the screen that warns you to "Return to the battle!"
The tick damage doesn't start straight away though, and players have learned to use their time up here to rain down on opponents in positions that they probably aren't checking.
That is all set to change though, as players will now be severally limited to what they can do in these zones.
Starting with Season 13, players will no longer be able to use Legends abilities, weapons, ordinances, survival items or healing items when "out of bounds". Healing items won't cancel if mid-heal, but otherwise you will be severally restricted as to what you can do in these areas.
Under these terms, the only thing an "out of bounds" area can really do for you is a potential safe point for a rotation - otherwise, these spots are surely best missed.
This will be a divisive change as many will find that strategies they previously employed will no longer work. However, with so many bugs and glitches apparent in these spots, it is clear that something had to happen to create an even playing field.
