With Season 1 just around the corner for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch have dropped its Intro Cinematic Trailer, and it features Rebirth Island quite heavily! The hype is real, and we can’t wait to jump in, come December 16, especially after seeing this bad boy.
The Cinematic Trailer for Season 1 is pretty awesome. Our eyes were glued to the screen, and we absolutely HAD to watch it a couple of times to let it sink in. We love the moodiness, the cheesy acting and the way it hypes up Rebirth Island. Check it out!
The trailer begins in a CIA Safe House, as all the monitors lose their signal and turn off, shrouding the office in darkness. At this moment, some Russians (of course) burst in and shoot the operators, before taking a look at a picture of Rebirth Island.
We are then told the story of Rebirth Island and the torture of the narrator, ex-KGB leader of the Nova 6 program, Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin, who we assume will be featured heavily in Season 1. Apparently, he went to a Gulag, knows a lot about poison gas, and reaaaaaaally doesn’t like Americans (he is Russian, of course)! No surprises there, we suppose...
The story of Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin culminates, in the trailer, at ‘Mall At The Pines’, which could potentially be the new Gulag in Warzone (though this is purely speculation). Here, he seems to have been developing Nova 6 again, and may be out for revenge against his Gulag torturers!
The trailer comes as Season 1 prepares for launch on December 16, amidst many updates, patches, and new features for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Considering the size of the recently dropped updates, they hold many exciting patches and features that we have all been waiting for!
What’s more exciting than the update released on December 7 is the new content we are keen to get our hands on in Season 1, including the new map, weapons, play progression and Battle Pass rewards across Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
For all of you Warzone fans out there, perhaps the most exciting part of all this is the integration of various features of Black Ops Cold War into the Warzone experience. We are eager to jump in with more than 30 new BOCW weapons and blueprints.
Then there is Rebirth Island – Warzone's ALCATRAZ!!! This, if we do say so ourselves, is the most exciting part of the upcoming content. Whilst we love the Russian cheese of this trailer, the best moment is when the map of Rebirth Island was picked up. December 16 couldn’t get here soon enough! Hurry the bloody hell up!
