Vanguard Weapon Setup Guides - Combat Shotgun

The Combat Shotgun is a pump-action Shotgun with a surprising range for a shotgun. How do you get the most out of the Combat Shotgun in Call of Duty: Vanguard? Here's our optimal setup guide...

Call of Duty: Vanguard launches with a ton of classic WWII guns, but for every gun, we have an astonishing amount of attachments to choose from, and we can use ten at once. So, where do you even begin? What attachments do you need? Don't worry, we'll give you all the answers in our Vanguard weapon setup guides. And today: the Combat Shotgun.

Far from the worst shotgun in Call of Duty: Vanguard (the Auto-Loading Shotgun surely takes that ticket), the Combat Shotgun is a relatively average affair. With more effective range than most other weapons in its class, the Combat Shotgun certainly benefits from a reasonable selection of attachments. It's a bit of a temperamental little pump-action, and you'll need to be careful with your setup selection if you want to be at all effective with the Combat Shotgun.

Check out our tier ranking of every weapon in Vanguard for an idea of how well the weapon places. It's nowhere near the top.

The Combat Shotgun Shotgun Attachment Setup

  • Muzzle: G28 Compensator
  • Barrel: Framble No .3
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: CGC 3M Adjustable
  • Underbarrel: M1915 Stead
  • Magazine: 16 Gauge 10 Round
  • Ammo Type: Packed Powder
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
  • Kit: Fully Loaded

The Combat Shotgun does considerably more damage than many of the other shotguns in Call of Duty: Vanguard. In fact, it has such a higher firepower that what we really want is an increase in ammunition and accuracy. Thus, we have popped the G28 Compensator Muzzle, the Framble No. 3 Barrel, the Slate Reflector Optic, and the CGC 3M Adjustable Stock to greatly increase the weapon's accuracy. In terms of ammunition, we have included Fully Loaded as well as the 16 Gauge, 10 Round Magazine. Sleight of Hand combines both wants with an increase in reload speed!

The Equipment & Perks On A Combat Shotgun Loadout

From what we've played so far, the meta loadout will look something like this:

  • Secondary Weapon: DP27
  • Lethal: Thermite
  • Tactical: Stuns
  • Perk 1: Fortified
  • Perk 2: Tracker
  • Perk 3: Overkill
  • Field Upgrade: Armor Plates

The above will almost certainly be the multiplayer meta for a Combat Shotgun loadout, unless they make some serious balance changes. The Armor Plates in particular are in need of a nerf, but whether one comes... we'll have to wait and see.
