CS:GO update patches up Breach, Studio

Valve released a pretty long list of CS:GO patch notes, though none of them are really that game-changing. A couple of non-competitive maps – Breach and Studio, were the focus of this CS:GO update, with some other minor changes coming along.

Bombastic improvements on Breach and Studio

Both maps received a bomb-related update. There was a spot in mid on Breach where the bomb would sometimes get stuck when dropped by the Ts, creating some comical and/or rage-inducing situations. Both laughter and anger should be gone now that the update is active, though with CS:GO there’s always something to drive you mad or make you laugh, usually out of desperation. We still love you, CS:GO!

Right, back to the patch notes. Studio received a similar makeover, with its own “bomb stuck” spots being fixed. There was always a bug where players wouldn’t take damage from the bomb explosion, which supposedly has also been fixed. I say supposedly because this same issue was included in previous CS:GO patch notes from late January, but it was still causing trouble afterwards. Hopefully, Valve did their job better this time.

The full CS:GO update patch notes

There’s not much else to point out from the remainder of the patch notes. Perhaps most notable is a slight adjustment to AWP crouch movement – not because the change itself is all that significant, but because any minor AWP alteration is considered a revolution.

Anyway, here is the entire list of changes this CS:GO update is bringing to the game:

AGENTS

  • Introducing patches – new customization items that can be applied to any agents you own. Once applied, patches can be removed but not recovered.
  • Added support for shuffling equipped agents in their loadout slots.

UI

  • Added equipped agent to buy menu.
  • Moved display of item purchasability to the buy wheel.
  • Bringing up the buy menu will now center the mouse pointer to the middle of the buy wheel.
  • Added localization support for position of the currency symbol for in-game prices.
  • Added support for editing and previewing crosshair in the game options.
  • Added support for sharing and importing crosshair sharing codes.

MAPS

Breach

  • Fixed a bomb stuck spot in mid
  • Fixed long A Wingman clip not working
  • Added additional clipping to mid staircase
  • Minor visual fixes
  • Prevented guns from clipping through the door near A site window.
  • Clipped the sign on A-long, preventing players (and the bomb) from reaching the top of it.
  • Improved clipping in several areas.

Studio

  • Improved clipping and geometry around A site.
  • Removed upper window unplayable area above B site.
  • Fixed players not taking damage from bomb detonation.
  • Improved clipping across the map.
  • Fixed bomb-stuck spots.
  • Fixed an issue with players boosting out of the map.
  • Improved visuals of CT / T Streets
  • Added bomb target decals to each site.

MISC

  • AWP crouching movement acceleration is now constant and will not spike after firing a shot.
  • Increased competitive max fps limit to 400 to support higher refresh rate monitors.
  • Fixed a transform matrix bug when navblocker was instanced via rotated point templates.
  • Fixed an underwater rendering crash on OSX.

Are you playing Breach or Studio? Do you like the new changes? Are you looking forward to dying from the bomb? Let us know it all!
