Ever since the mudgolems roster gathered together in early September, the team has shown some incredible results. Today Duško "BoraNija" Boranijaševic leaves the squad.

Just a few months back we saw the formation of a brand-new Dota 2 team when mudgolems emerged on September 10. The squad included some well-known players from the EU region:

  • Oliver "skiter" Lepko
  • Duško "BoraNija" Boranijaševic
  • Neta "33" Shapira
  • Milan "MiLAN" Kozomara
  • Adrian "Fata" Trinks

For over a month they were considered the underdogs, despite taking second place at the BTS Pro Series Season 3: Europe/CIS. All of that changed at ESL One Germany when the team managed to defeat what was arguably the best team in the world – Team Secret. They lost the following two series versus Natus Vincere and Team Liquid which left them in third place at the event.

The next event in line for mudgolems was Summit 13 Online: Europe & CIS where the team had an amazing performance in the groups and a disappointing one in the playoffs. This left them in 5-8th place. Most recently, mudgolems joined the Epic League. The group stage of the event came to an end yesterday and mudgolems were at the bottom of Division 1. They managed to win only two of their series – against Team Nigma and Just Error.

Now that they’ve dropped in Division 2, they’ll start in the lower bracket in a series versus the ex-NiP roster.

BoraNija is Out

Today, Duško "BoraNija" Boranijaševic announced that he’s no longer part of the team. The details of “why” are still unclear.

The team was definitely not having a good time in the Epic League, but they’ve certainly shown us what they’re capable of in the previous ones. Whether BoraNija was kicked or left on his own will remains to be seen. They still have a series against the ex-NiP tomorrow, but will they find a stand-in on such short notice or will they forfeit?

OGA Dota PIT Season 4: Europe/CIS is coming next week on December 15 and mudgolems already received a direct invitation for the event. There’s a high chance of two things happening, they’ll either find a stand-in for the duration of the tournament or we’ll see a disband. BoraNija straight up carried mudgolems in more than one game so it's really baffling why he's suddenly leaving. It really smells like some sort of internal conflict.

Either that or BoraNija got an offer he couldn't refuse? Will we see him join one of the other big teams? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page!
