The New Pattinson Batman Is “No Better Than a Serial Killer”

The Batman is seemingly channeling its inner Nolan: The Robert Pattinson-led Batman reboot is dark, gritty, and wonderful.

The new Batman ain't no bitch. In fact, the new Batman is a bad son of a bitch, because the new Batman is, essentially, "no better than the ruthless serial killer he's hunting." At least early on and at least according to the synopsis, which uses the phrase to explain why, when we meet him, Bruce Wayne is a "disillusioned, desperate vigilante". I love it.

Here's the full synopsis:

The Batman is an edgy, action-packed thriller that depicts Batman in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he's hunting.

Christopher Nolan vibes, anyone? Honestly, it looks like The Batman will be even darker than the Nolan trilogy, which was also confirmed by Andy Serkis, who is part of the main cast alongside Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Paul Dano and Colin Farrell. Yup, talk about star-studded.

If you haven't seen the trailer for the new Batman, I do recommend it, because... f***ing chills:

The Batman is set to release on March 4, 2022, and, honestly, once again, DC has manged to get me hyped as f***. Will they disappoint me like they usually do, or will this movie actually deliver and set up the DC Cinematic Universe we want and deserve? We'll find out in a couple of months, and until then... I'll leave you with this behind the scenes. Don't say I don't do nothing for you
