Meadows valheim — 8. Meadows: The first biome in Valheim, and where your Viking adventure begins. In this biome, you mostly find deer and boar. It is a mostly harmless biome, and in the Meadows, you can also find wood, stone, flint, berries, and other basic early game resources. It's a peaceful place, where you can start making your base in relative safety. (Credit: Iron Gate AB)

Valheim black forest — 7. Black Forest: Your next biome in Valheim is the Black Forest. In this biome, large pine trees tower above you, as you look for copper deposits, Burial Chambers, and Troll Caves. The number of monsters that appear in this biome triples! Expect to see Greydwarf Brutes, Greydwarf Shamans, and massive Trolls within the forest. The resources you can find here are copper ore, core wood, carrot seeds, and thistles. If you stumble upon a Burial Chamber, it may be guarded by skeletons. Surtling Cores are hidden within the chambers, and these cores let you craft a smelter and kiln! (Credit: Iron Gate AB)

Valheim Swamp Biome — 6. Swamp: This biome has a sharp climb in difficulty, and will end you fast if you are not prepared! The enemies here are weak to blunt weapons, so bring a mace to crush the Skeletons, Leeches, Blobs, Draugrs, and Surtlings that inhabit this biome. The valuable iron scrap is located in the Swamp, but you first need the Swamp Key to unlock the doors to the Suken Crypts, where the rare metal is located. (Credit: Iron Gate AB)

Valheim moutains — 5. Mountains: The coldest biome in Valheim! That's right, it's cold AF in the Mountains. So, you will need some sort of protection from the elements, or the cold air will literally kill you. You can find silver ore and obsidian in this biome, but watch out for the deadly wolves, annoying drakes, and lumbering stone golems that inhabit the peaks. If you're lucky enough, you might find some dragon eggs too! (Credit: Iron Gate AB)

Valheim plains — 4. Plains: The deadliest biome in Valheim! All players stumble across this area by mistake, and then quickly die from the deadly mobs lurking within its grassy hills. Deathsquitos, Furlings (Goblins), and Lox (Bison) await you here. If you manage to survive the Plains, then you can find black metal ore, flax, and barley inside the Furling camps. Northlands valheim biome — 3. Deep North: Travel far enough North, towards the edge of the map, and you will eventually find the freezing empty Deep North biome. This biome is still under development, and doesn't have much to offer. It looks really cool, but has no real purpose as of yet. (Credit: Iron Gate AB)

Fire biome valheim — 2. Ashlands: In the southern reaches of Valheim, a firey and watery biome awaits you. This series of small islands is currently still under development. The only thing found there are Surtlings, and Glowing Rocks that contain Flametal Ore when mined. The resource currently has no use at the moment, but makes a cool souvenir (Credit: Iron Gate AB).

Mistlands valheim — 1. Mistlands: If you do enough exploring in Valheim, you will come across this mysterious biome often located between other biomes. The Mistlands has permanent darkness, and large roots shooting out of the ground. This spooky forest has spider webs and giant skulls everywhere. However, this biome is still under development and has no enemies in it, making it a safe place to hide. (Credit: Iron Gate AB)

You can find these hidden biomes in the game, but they are not fully implemented! Today we take a boat tour on a Viking Longship, and explore each biome in Valheim.
