Cyberpunk 2077 mods are getting more popular and for good reason! But careful what you download, as CD Projekt Red is warning people it could give hackers access to protected parts of your PC.

As you all know by now, Cyberpunk 2077 was basically a AAA game released as an unfinished early access game. The modding community is much faster to fix/add things to the game than CD Projekt Red could ever wish to be. But that has not stopped the Cyberpunk 2077 developers from coming out on Twitter heeding players to take caution and not to download these mods.

The tweet explains that when you install a mod it could also have malicious code attached to it and theoretically cause security problems for your computer. Depending on how proactive you are with checking download files and backing up important things on your PC, a Cyberpunk 2077 mod, could also come with something nasty like a keylogger.

CD Projekt RED suggests you do not use any mods until the problem is fixed. But, one might venture to think that the now tarnished developer has perhaps more pressing matters to attend to first, rather than fixing a problem that modders may have self-inflicted.

Out of the box, Cyberpunk 2077 is less than desirable so the urge to mod is strong. It’s okay if you want to keep your Cyberpunk dreams alive and we support you in your modding. Just make sure you are using trusted sources within the modding community and not just clicking on the first search results off of Google and blindly downloading it. You can hack in Cyberpunk 2077, but surely you don't want to actually be hacked yourself!Read more:
