The answer is simple – "Holding back the flood" is just the main task of completing all objectives of chapter 1 and 2 of the season journey. Here is how to do it:
- Open up the seasonal tab by pressing "U" while in the map screen
- Click on "Season Journey"
- Complete all objectives in chapter 1
- Complete all objectives in chapter 2
Note that you can only start with the objectives of the second chapter once you have completed chapter 1. After playing through both chapters, the "Holding back the flood" quest will be completed, and you can finally proceed with the season 1 story.
