In Diablo 4, you begin with four healing potions, but upgrading them is recommended as you progress through the game. This is because stronger potions are necessary to survive boss battles and long dungeons.
To obtain upgrades for these types of potions, you need to reach specific levels and gather certain materials. At level 1, all players begin with the Weak Healing Potion, and the Tiny Healing Potion becomes available at level 10. Upgrades continue to become available every 10 levels thereafter.
Diablo 4: How To Upgrade Your Healing Potion
To upgrade your potions, you need to find an Alchemist, which is represented by a mortar and pestle icon on the map.
As you level up, you gain access to better quality potions, with a new potion being unlocked every ten levels. You start with a Weak healing potion and unlock the Tiny healing potion at level ten.
To upgrade your healing potion, you require specific Diablo 4 materials, such as Gallowvine and Biteberry.
You need two Gallowvine to upgrade the Weak healing potion, and to upgrade it again to the Minor healing potion, you must be at level 20 and have 15 Gallowvine, five Biteberry, and 400 gold. Each upgrade will cost you more materials.
These herbs can be found on the path to Kyovashad or in the wilderness. A quest is available from level ten onwards to teach you how to upgrade your potions.
