Sometimes all you need to survive a complicated or dangerous situation is to take a quick sip. Potions are an integral part of Final Fantasy 16 and can be helpful during your travels throughout Valisthea. In this guide, we explain how to increase the effectiveness of your potions and how to carry more of them.
Final Fantasy 16: How To Level Up And Increase Your Potions
There are different potions that a player can encounter in Final Fantasy 16 and all of them work differently. For example, there are elixirs and potions which increase your defensive stats or restore HP. As you can see, these potions are very useful, and we advise you to always carry some of them with you.
And there are mechanics in the game that allow you to increase the effectiveness of these potions and to even carry more of them.
How To Carry More Potions
As we already said, potions are very useful and the ability to carry more of them is worth the efforts. In Final Fantasy, you will encounter the engineer Owain, a NPC who has two quests for you. You can find him at Mid's Dungeon in the Hideaway. As a reward, he will increase your potion pouch, once you solved them.
Important info: To unlock Owain's quest, you have to complete the main quest "Letting off Steam 3"! The quests he wants you to complete are called "Weird Science" and "Even Weirder Science".
Weird Science
In Weird Science, you have to defeat the "Bomb King", which has a bomb (duh) that Owain wants. You can find this opponent in the Crock in Sanbreque. And be careful, you might have encountered other Bomb enemies, but the King is a stronger and bigger version of them. Just defeat him and take the Bomb Ash back to Owain.
Even Weirder Science
In this quest, you have to gather three Spherical Echoes. You will find these Echoes in three different locations-in The Silent Sough, in Claireview and in Lostplume. Be careful on your journey, the Spherical Echoes are guarded by high level enemies.
After every solved quest, Owain will increase the size of your Potion Pouch. Obviously, the second one increases it to his maximum.
How To Increase The Effectiveness Of Your Potions
Stronger potions are always a good idea, so we advise you to use this in-game option. To increase the effectiveness of your potions, you require the services of another NPC. This time it's Nigel the Botanist, you will find him in the Hideaway as well. And of course, he has two quests for you called "The Root of the Problem" and "Please Sir, Can I have some Morbol"
Important info: To unlock the sidequests you have to begin the main quest "After the Storm"!
The Root of the Problem: This is a very simple quest with an easy task – collect Morganbeard seeds. You can find these seeds in Northern Rosaria. Unfortunately, the guarding Goblin Gardeners won't give you these seeds without a fight. So be prepared and check if your equipment is fitting for this quest. Bring the gathered seeds back to Nigel, and he will increase the potency of your potions.
Please Sir, Can I have some Morbol: In this quest, Nigel sends you out to find a tendril from the Morbol. You will find your target in the Whispering Waters in Rosaria. The Morbol is called "Carrot", more information can be found at the Hunt Board. Once you defeated Carrot and brought back the tendril, Nigel will increase the effectiveness of your potions to the maximum.
