IO Interactive has released some fresh news regarding when players will be able to see Hitman 4.
In early 2021, the developers released Hitman 3, widely regarded as the best part of the new trilogy about the bald assassin. Since then, Hitman 3 has been updated regularly, but we fans still want more!
Hitman 4: How The Series Could Continue
Based on how Hitman 3 ended, there is plenty of potential to continue the storyline. So what do our devs have to say about that?
IOI creative director Christian Elverdam has announced in a new interview that the company is likely to take a break from Agent 47. While it is true that further updates to Hitman 3 will continue to appear in the near future, Elverdam revealed that IOI now wants to focus on a new game about James Bond.
Per Christian Elverdam:
Right now a major, major new Hitman game: that’s a little bit on hiatus, as we’re building another agent fantasy that’s also taking up a lot of our time. [...] But obviously we’ll come back to beloved Agent 47. He’s still very much in the heart of this company.
Due to this, a new Hitman isn't likely to be seen, at least for a while.
Maybe the news is not satisfactory, but we are glad that IO Interactive is not abandoning the franchise altogether, it is simply devoting itself for the moment to another project, which we are also looking forward to. Anyway, while waiting for the announcement of Hitman 4 we will have to be patient.
