The free PS Plus Games are a hot topic in the beginning of every month, and thus we give you our PS Plus Games for September prediction: What will the PlayStation store cook up for PlayStation Plus owners this September? Let's speculate.

[Update, August 30]

You know the drill, PS Plus games getting leaked before their official announcement is like Fortnite skins getting leaked way before they're released: standard.

According to Dealabs, who have leaked the correct PS Plus games before, we're getting these freebies in September:

PS Plus Games September 2021

  • Overcooked! All You Can Eat
  • Hitman 2
  • Predator Hunting Grounds

Meek line-up, if you ask me, but we're always complaining with every single line-up, so let me put it this way: Sony is not going to put Ghost of Tsushima in their PS Plus games for a while, if you're waiting for Triple-A games like that, you might want to lower your expectations. You'll be disappointed each and every time.

If you want to check out our prediction (spoiler: we got everything wrong), keep on reading.

Last month we got a straight-up terrible PS Plus offering: Plants vs Zombies, Tennis World Tour and Hunter's Arena Legends. Yeah... whack. No one cared. Now we're thinking... what if August had to walk, so that September can soar? That would be the only excuse for Sony, and we're legitimately hoping that's the case. If you didn't get any of these weak August games, don't forget you still can until about September 2:

Now let's start the PS Plus games for September predictions:

What Games Will Be Free on PS Plus in September?

F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch

Ok, I promised myself not to make any jokes about the name 'fist', but come on: Forged in Shadow Torch? Doesn't that just sound like they really, really, tried to make the name F.I.S.T. work? Why? All the sexual innuendos that come to mind... I can't even...

Anyway, we think this is a hot pic for a PS Plus release in September. Why? The game is releasing on September 7 for the PS4 and the PS5, so the timing checks out perfectly. It's a beautiful modern Metroidvania, which sounds great to me, but is not necessarily mainstream, so a PS Plus boost could be exactly what the game needs. Also, it's high quality enough that people definitely won't complain, and Sony is more than overdue for a good month of PS Plus games. If you want to know more about the game, here's a some gameplay and a dev walkthrough:

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot

Why? Because it's the unofficial anime month for PS Plus. If you didn't know, let me fill you in: Sony just bought Crunchyroll and wants to make it a part of the PS Plus subscription for a little extra cash. Also, you know how Sony loves their 'Made in Japan' months, because, duh, Sony is from Japan. With the billion-dollar acquisition going on, this is about as good a time as ever to celebrate anime. What better game then, than the anime: Dragon Ball. Plus, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is actually a decent and fun game, if you like Dragon Ball.

Godfall

Ok, if you're reading my predictions regularly, you know that I think Godfall is coming every month and, I'm sorry, but this month is the month. Seriously, Godfall is not a bad hack 'n slash game, but it is just that: A pure hack 'n slash without any dressing on it. The game is gorgeous, but short. Fun, but shallow. No one is really willing to spend hard-earned cash on it, which is exactly why sales were so poor. A PS Plus boost might just do wonders for the game and will let many players enjoy a solid next-gen game that they would otherwise never get to play.

World War Z or Uncharted: Lost Legacy

Another repeat offender, but if Sony wants to get back on people's good sides, this is the game to do it – or rather either of these two could be the game to do it. Uncharted is a fan-favorite, and anyone that was gonna buy Lost Legacy already bought it. Naughty Dog really has nothing to lose here, and just new fans to gain.

As for World War Z, the same applies: No one is really still buying the game, but it's a great game and especially now that Back 4 Blood has revived the zombie hype, the time is ripe for this one to drop for free. If this game wants to get back into the conversation and have its 15 minutes of fame, then, as Elvis said, it's now or never.
