Sly Cooper 5 PS5

Sly Cooper 5 might be coming to PS5 if we are to believe the rumors: Apparently a follow-up to the Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is in the making at Sony and coming to PlayStation 5.

As far as gaming rumors go, there are three sources: 4chan, Reddit and Twitter. This one originated on 4chan, where an insider claimed that Sucker Punch Productions are looking to develop Sly Cooper 5 for the PlayStation 5. The post then quickly got deleted, which, in my world, only gives it more credibility: You're only hiding that which you have to hide. Duh.

Sly Cooper 5 Coming to PS5

Of course, a deleted post means nothing in this day and age, because once something is out there... it's out there. It wasn't long before one of the world's greatest leaks got involved: Shpeshal_Nick confirmed rumors of Sly Cooper 5 coming to PS5. Nick Baker is all about inside leaks and is actually very, very accurate. It's a mystery to me why people keep feeding this guy information, when he just blatantly turns around and reveals it, but I guess that's just the world we live it:

Nick Baker points out that the Sly Cooper sequel production will not be handled by Sucker Punch since they are busy with Ghost of Tsushima right now.

Are the Sly Cooper 5 Rumors True?

Let's look at it from a business point of view: Sly Cooper was a majorly beloved franchise that sold well. Sucker Punch are known to produce quality titles. Ratchet & Clank just made Sony a whole lot of money, showing that there is a market for those beautiful animated games. Putting all these things together, I don't see a reason why Sly Cooper 5 wouldn't be a profitable business decision.

From a gamer's point of view, it's simple: Duh, we need this game. Ratchet & Clank was awesome and there is no better time than now to bring back the actual king of animated games. The Sly Cooper franchise rocks and we definitely, definitely, want to see it make a combat. Just imagine the possibilities of a Sly Cooper game with modern graphics, modern processing power... are we talking open world? Are we talking something that looks like a Pixar movie? Are we talking stealth revolution? I don't know, but we're talking, and I love it.
