Valorant's First New Weapon Is Coming Soon And Fans Are Already Terrified

This has never happened in Valorant before. We'll show you what's behind the new weapon that is set to be released in Episode 8!

With Episode 8, we'll be getting a new addition to our Valorant weapon arsenal (Oh no, that means we have to grab even more skins). But the community is already a little terrified of just how strong this thing looks.

New "Outlaw" Weapon In Valorant Leaked

What we've seen so far of the new Valorant weapon called the "Outlaw" has stirred up mixed reactions. First things first, here it is:

Sniper lovers are thrilled. Based on pictures we have seen, the Outlaw seems to be a sniper and according to leaks, it functions like one. But, it also has some characteristics of a shotgun, firing two bullets at once. And many are worried it will simply be too strong for how cheap it is.

Cost & Damage Of The Outlaw

The weapon is priced at 2400 credits and deals 140 body damage. In its price range, the Outlaw is more affordable than the typical buy-round weapons, but more expensive than the ones usually used in eco or bonus rounds.

Here is an overview of the costs of the other weapons in Valorant:

As we can see, the Guardian has a similar price. This could mean that in situations where one might typically choose the Guardian to save a bit, they might opt for the Outlaw instead, potentially pushing the Guardian aside.

Outlaw: A Counter Against Light Shields

Recently, we're seeing the Light Shield meta more frequently, both in esports and ranked. Players often opt for a Light Shield and a buy-round weapon, especially among pros, where the focus is often on landing the first headshot. After all, it doesn't matter what shield you have, a headshot means instant death. This also saves 600 credits for the next round.

Lower-ranked players face more danger from body shots. Now, with the new Outlaw weapon doing 140 damage on a body shot, it quickly takes down Light Shield users, even from a distance. Players are debating whether this is just an additional reason to tilt or if it's finally time to counter the Light Shield meta.

Players and pro teams now have to think more carefully about whether they really want to go out with a Light Shield instead of a Heavy Shield, which could add an interesting twist.
