The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and now Lilo & Stitch: Disney won't stop with the live-action versions of their iconic movies. We'll show you everything we know about the Lilo & Stitch live-action movie. So, let's take a closer look at the possible release, the confirmed cast and what else the upcoming movie has got to offer.

Lilo & Stitch (Live-Action) | The Trailer Is Finally Here!

Just two months before its release, we finally got the first live-action trailer for the new Lilo & Stitch movie.

The trailer has clearly stirred up a mix of emotions. Some fans feel that the transition to reality takes away from the charm of the original, saying it just doesn't have the same magic anymore. Others are frustrated with Disney's continued reliance on remakes and sequels, and would like to see more original content.

On the positive side, Stitch's CGI seems to have hit the mark, with many saying he looks incredible. However, not everyone likes Nani's performance, with some pointing out that she looks a little too angry.

Pleakley's look seems to have left fans with mixed feelings. The casting of Lilo seems to work though, as the actress fits the role well. Finally, there's a bit of a nostalgic wish: some fans are hoping for the return of Ving Rhames as Cobra Bubbles. All in all, it's a mixed bag, with some eagerly anticipating the release and others feeling a bit unsure about what this new version will bring. What do you think?

Confirmed Cast

For Lilo, we have newcomer Maia Kealoha .At just seven years old, she is the youngest actress in the cast! Gonna be insane to see such a young girl playing one of the most important roles. But there's no doubt she'll do a great job!

While we (luckily) won't get a dude running around in a costume for Stitch, Chris Sanders will return as the voice actor for Stitch. He originally voiced Stitch back in 2002. Great to see him reprising his role!

But the two of them would be lost without Lilo's big sister, right? That's why Sydney Agudong has been cast as Nani.

Other confirmed cast members include Billy Magnussen as Agent Pleakley, Tia Carrere as Mrs. Kekoa and Hangover -star Zach Galifianakis as Jumba.

Unrest Due To Live-Action Disney Movies

While many people appreciate the live-action adaptations of iconic Disney animated films, just as many seem to dislike them. A lot of people believe that when Disney turns their animated movies into live-action, they lose the vibrant and colorful sparkle that the animated versions had.

This time, though, Disney gets criticized for letting Sydney Agudong play the role of Nani (Lilo's big sister). People call Disney out for "whitewashing", because Nani got a darker skin color in the animated movie and series than the actress.

However, in our opinion, this accusation is not justified this time. Yeah, she might have a lighter skin color and brown instead of black hair, but Sydney Agudong is of Hawaiian descent and therefore suits perfectly in the setting of Lilo & Stitch.
