1-21

Cropped Portada

About This Gallery:

For this list, we focused on raunchy comedies that—whether for better or worse—were so influential they helped shape the genre and pop culture itself. Yes, even the ones that might feel a little (or a lot) questionable or cancel-worthy by today’s standards.

Think we missed a must-have raunchy comedy? Got a favorite on the list? Drop it in the comments—we’re ready to laugh, cringe, or both! | ©

Cropped Porkys

20. Porky's (1981)

Ah, Porky's—the original “teen boys peeping through holes in shower walls” cinematic experience. Set in 1950s Florida, this film pushed every button it could get its hands on, becoming one of the first massive box office hits in the raunchy teen comedy genre. It’s crude, absurd, and definitely would not pass a 2025 HR review, but back in the day, it was pure catnip for adolescent audiences. Though it’s low on subtlety, it was high on impact, paving the way for an entire subgenre of horny high school hijinks. And while there are no A-listers in the cast, the film itself became a cult sensation. A little messy, kind of problematic, but undeniably influential. | © 20th Century Fox

Cropped Fast Times at Ridgemont High

19. Fast Times At Ridgemont High (1982)

Fast Times is like your cool older cousin who had a part-time job, smoked in the parking lot, and somehow knew way too much about everything. This coming-of-age comedy managed to be both raunchy and surprisingly heartfelt. Written by Cameron Crowe and directed by Amy Heckerling, it gave us unforgettable characters like Sean Penn’s iconic surfer-stoner Jeff Spicoli, and marked early appearances by future stars like Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judge Reinhold, Forest Whitaker, and even a blink-and-you-miss-it Nicolas Cage. It walked a tightrope between teenage chaos and emotional depth, giving the raunchy comedy genre a bit of soul. | © Universal Pictures

Cropped Road Trip

18. Road Trip (2000)

Road Trip is exactly what the title promises: dudes, a cross-country drive, and an increasingly ridiculous string of events. When a VHS tape of a certain extracurricular activity is accidentally mailed to a girlfriend, chaos ensues—and so does a classic raunch-fueled adventure. Tom Green (yes, that Tom Green) chews up the scenery as a bizarre narrator, while Breckin Meyer, Seann William Scott, and DJ Qualls round out the absurd ensemble. This movie had everything: frat humor, questionable decisions, and a python in a dorm room. It’s like Porky’s got in a van and discovered GPS. | © DreamWorks Pictures

Cropped Van Wilder

17. Van Wilder Movies (2002)

Ryan Reynolds was born to play Van Wilder—smooth talker, party god, and eternal college student. The original Van Wilder movie from 2002 delivered a character so charismatic and unapologetically ridiculous, it felt like Ferris Bueller had gone to college and majored in keg stands. While the spin-offs (The Rise of Taj, anyone?) never quite reached the same heights, the OG entry solidified Reynolds as a king of the modern raunch-com. Featuring Tara Reid, gross-out gags, and a bulldog with... let’s say memorable bodily functions, this one went full throttle on shock laughs. | © Artisan Entertainment

Cropped National Lampoons Vacation

16. National Lampoon's Vacation (1983)

Few road trips have been as epically disastrous—or hilarious—as the Griswolds’ journey to Walley World. National Lampoon’s Vacation introduced Chevy Chase’s accident-prone everyman, Clark Griswold, and set the gold standard for family vacation meltdowns. Beverly D’Angelo brought charm and sanity as his long-suffering wife, while future stars like Anthony Michael Hall played the kids. Directed by Harold Ramis and written by John Hughes (a powerhouse duo), this movie combined slapstick chaos with surprisingly sharp satire. It’s the reason we still joke about cross-country car rides and distant theme parks today. | © Warner Bros. Pictures

Cropped Euro Trip

15. EuroTrip (2004)

EuroTrip is like that chaotic backpacking trip your college roommate took and never stopped talking about—except with more absinthe, nudity, and awkward cultural misunderstandings. When a guy named Scott gets dumped and hops on a plane to chase his pen pal across Europe, hilarity (and secondhand embarrassment) ensues. This cult classic gave us the unforgettable (and musically tragic) line “Scotty doesn’t know,” courtesy of a surprisingly punked-out Matt Damon. Featuring Michelle Trachtenberg and a whole parade of outrageous situations—from nude beaches to Eastern European raves—it’s a raunchy romp that never pretends to be anything deeper than a good time. | © DreamWorks Pictures

Cropped The 40 Year Old Virgin

14. The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005)

This Judd Apatow gem somehow made chest-waxing, awkward dates, and action figure collections feel oddly heartwarming. The 40-Year-Old Virgin introduced us to Andy, played by Steve Carell in his breakout film role, as a lovable loner who just happens to be... well, you know. Supported by a hilariously chaotic cast including Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen, and Romany Malco, this film blends raunchy humor with just enough emotional sweetness to keep things balanced. It also gave us the infamous “Kelly Clarkson!” wax scene and taught a generation the importance of honesty, friendship, and not putting the pussy on a pedestal. | © Universal Pictures

Cropped Wedding Crashers

13. Wedding Crashers (2005)

Wedding Crashers turned Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson into the ultimate party crasher bromance duo. These two lovable sleazeballs made lying your way into weddings seem like both an art form and a potential felony. With one-liners flying, champagne flowing, and Isla Fisher’s unforgettable “stage five clinger” energy, this film had no shortage of jaw-dropping moments. And let’s not forget a pre-fame Bradley Cooper as the punchable villain and a surprise dose of wisdom from Christopher Walken. Equal parts absurd and oddly charming, this movie proved that behind every raunchy guy lies a dude who just wants love... and cake. | © New Line Cinema

Cropped The Girl Next Door

12. The Girl Next Door (2004)

High school fantasies went into overdrive with The Girl Next Door, where an awkward teen discovers the beautiful girl next door—played by Elisha Cuthbert—is a former adult film star. Naturally, hijinks, misunderstandings, and life lessons follow. Emile Hirsch stars as the earnest underdog, navigating love, blackmail, and the adult entertainment industry, all while trying to give a heartfelt senior speech. It’s raunchy, yes, but surprisingly thoughtful, striking a weird balance between American Pie and Risky Business. Also, shoutout to Timothy Olyphant, who steals scenes as the menacingly smooth adult film producer. | © 20th Century Fox

Cropped Revenge of the Nerds

11. Revenge Of The Nerds (1984)

Revenge of the Nerds is what happens when a bunch of bullied brainiacs decide to fight back—with pocket protectors and a surprising amount of sexual mischief. A product of its time (and we do mean the '80s), this cult classic follows Lewis, Gilbert, and their crew as they take on the jock fraternity system in a no-holds-barred battle of brains vs. brawn. Robert Carradine and Anthony Edwards lead the nerd charge, and the film unapologetically leans into its weirdness, complete with musical numbers, panty raids, and questionable consent moments that are... well, let’s just say very 1984. Still, for better or worse, it helped usher in the era of the lovable loser comedy. | © 20th Century Fox

Cropped Dude Wheres My Car

10. Dude, Where’s My Car? (2000)

This one is peak early-2000s chaos wrapped in JNCO jeans and frosted tips. Dude, Where’s My Car? stars Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott as two lovable idiots who wake up with no memory of the previous night—and, more importantly, no idea where their car is. What follows is a mind-bending journey involving space cults, tattoos that say “Dude” and “Sweet,” and an oversized, inexplicable ostrich. It’s the kind of movie that feels like it was written during a Red Bull-fueled fever dream, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. Dumb? Definitely. Influential? Undeniably. | © 20th Century Fox

Cropped Scary Movie

9. Scary Movie (2000)

Scary Movie kicked down the door for parody films with zero filter and no shame, and we loved every absurd second of it. Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and starring Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall, this horror-spoof-turned-raunch-comedy made fun of everything—and we mean everything. From Scream to The Matrix, no genre was safe, and the jokes were as dirty as they were relentless. It turned Anna Faris into the reigning queen of horror-comedy and helped launch an entire franchise of unhinged sequels. Not high art, but high on laugh-out-loud moments and juvenile gags. | © Dimension Films

Cropped Borat

8. Borat (2006)

Very nice! Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan wasn’t just a movie—it was a cultural hurricane. Disguised as a clueless journalist from Kazakhstan, Cohen blurred the line between fiction and reality, exposing real people’s reactions to jaw-droppingly inappropriate behavior. Whether he was offending rodeo crowds or attempting to marry Pamela Anderson, Borat shocked and delighted in equal measure. It’s crass, controversial, and has aged like a chaotic bottle of fermented horse milk—but it’s impossible to deny its impact on both comedy and political satire. | © 20th Century Fox

Cropped The Hangover

7. The Hangover (2009)

Before The Hangover, bachelor parties were wild. After The Hangover, they were mythical. Todd Phillips' raunchy rollercoaster through a blackout-fueled Vegas weekend redefined bromance comedies. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis (as the unforgettable Alan) lose their groom, a tooth, and pretty much all dignity. Throw in a tiger, Mike Tyson, and a baby named Carlos, and you’ve got a comedy classic that launched a trilogy—and a thousand real-life copycats with much worse consequences. A wild night never looked so cinematic. | © Warner Bros. Pictures

Cropped Old School

6. Old School (2003)

We’re going streaking! Old School brought adult arrested development to the forefront, with Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, and Luke Wilson turning midlife crises into full-blown frat antics. Directed by Todd Phillips (yep, again), the film asks the important question: What if grown men ditched responsibility and started their own fraternity? The answer: chaos, KY wrestling, and surprisingly touching moments about friendship and growing up (kind of). Ferrell’s Frank the Tank became an instant comedy icon, and the movie helped usher in the era of man-child comedies that dominated the 2000s. | © DreamWorks Pictures

Cropped Animal House

5. Animal House (1978)

Animal House was the original blueprint for college comedies, a raucous, rowdy affair that practically defined the genre. Directed by John Landis and starring John Belushi as the lovable, chaotic Bluto, this film told the story of a group of misfit frat brothers who defy authority, throw epic parties, and wreak havoc on their campus. The legendary toga party, the food fight, and Belushi’s “Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?” line became instantly iconic. Its blend of slapstick, social rebellion, and total anarchy paved the way for decades of college comedies to come. It’s dirty, it’s loud, and it’s absolutely essential viewing. | © Universal Pictures

Cropped Theres Something About Mary

4. There’s Something About Mary (1998)

There’s Something About Mary proved that gross-out humor could have a heart (and, well, a lot of body fluid jokes). Ben Stiller stars as Ted, the guy who had the perfect high school crush on the perfect girl, Mary (Cameron Diaz)—but things take a turn when he tries to reconnect with her in adulthood. From the infamous “hair gel” scene to Matt Dillon’s insane role as a sleazy private investigator, this film is nothing short of legendary. The Farrelly Brothers’ brilliance is on full display as they mix raunchy humor with just enough sweetness to make us actually care about the characters, despite their insane predicaments. Oh, and who could forget the beauty of Diaz’s enduring smile? | © 20th Century Fox

Cropped Superbad

3. Superbad (2007)

Superbad is the story of two high school seniors trying to make their mark before graduation—and by “make their mark,” we mean trying to buy alcohol for a party, get laid, and survive an absurd series of misadventures. Written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, it made a star out of Jonah Hill and solidified Michael Cera as the king of awkward teenage guys. The film’s blend of crude humor, sharp wit, and genuinely heartfelt moments (yes, we’re talking about Seth’s friendship with Evan) made it one of the most beloved comedies of the 21st century. And who can forget the legendary “McLovin” ID? That moment is in the comedy hall of fame. | © Columbia Pictures

Cropped Austin Powers Movies

2. Austin Powers Movies (1997)

Austin Powers, baby! The Austin Powers trilogy—International Man of Mystery (1997), The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), and Goldmember (2002)—gave us a totally shagadelic, ridiculously raunchy parody of 1960s spy thrillers. Mike Myers’ iconic portrayal of both the lovable and lecherous spy Austin Powers, as well as the villainous Dr. Evil, is a comedy tour de force. The films also made a star out of Elizabeth Hurley and gave us hilarious supporting performances from the likes of Seth Green and Mini-Me (played by Verne Troyer). With unforgettable catchphrases like “Yeah, baby!” and “Do I make you horny, baby?”, Austin Powers combined vintage spy flair with outrageous sexual humor in the best way possible. | © New Line Cinema

Cropped American Pie

1. American Pie (1999)

American Pie doesn’t just belong on the top of this list; it practically invented the genre of raunchy teen comedies. It brought us the beloved and, at times, incredibly awkward gang of high schoolers as they attempt to lose their virginity before graduation. Led by Jason Biggs’ unforgettable “pie incident,” American Pie introduced us to the most iconic group of nerds, jocks, and misfits to ever make us laugh, cringe, and facepalm in equal measure. Stifler (Seann William Scott) became the gold standard for raunchy film archetypes, and the movie’s heart and unforgettable moments (hello, Band Camp) made it an instant classic. Over two decades later, it’s still the go-to reference for any teen comedy that dares to show a bit too much skin. | © Universal Pictures
