Cropped About

About this gallery:

For this list, we have decided to focus only on movies where Jessica Alba appears, no matter how small her role is. For this reason, don’t expect any of her performances in series, short films, or commercials. And remember, this list is subjective! If you think any movie is not in the right spot, share your opinion!

Cropped Good Luck Chuck

20. Good Luck Chuck (2007)

In Good Luck Chuck, Alba plays Cam, the girl of the lead character’s dreams, in a rom-com that’s more about crude humor than actual romance. While Alba brings her signature charm and likability, the script forces her into slapstick situations that fall flat more often than not. It’s a shame because she could have done so much more if given the chance. The movie? Let’s just say the luck ran out. | © Lionsgate

Cropped Valentines Day

19. Valentine's Day (2010)

Valentine's Day is packed with a star-studded cast, but even amidst the ensemble, Alba manages to get lost. Playing Morley, a girlfriend who breaks up with Ashton Kutcher’s character early in the movie, Alba’s role is pretty forgettable. The film is cute, but her character? Not so much. She’s in and out faster than you can say "Hallmark card." | © Warner Bros. Pictures

Cropped Spy Kids 4 All the Time in the World

18. Spy Kids: All the Time in the World (2011)

Alba tries to bring her action-star chops into the family-friendly Spy Kids franchise as a spy mom. Unfortunately, this fourth installment feels like it’s running out of steam. Alba does her best with the campy material, but between the fart jokes and time puns, the movie doesn’t quite hit the mark. The kids will enjoy it, but parents might roll their eyes. | © Dimension Films

Cropped Barely Lethal

17. Barely Lethal (2015)

In Barely Lethal, Alba plays the villain – yes, the bad guy – in a teen action-comedy about a high school spy. The concept sounds fun, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Alba tries her best to give the role some edge, but it’s hard to take her seriously in a movie that can’t decide if it’s a comedy or action flick. Not lethal, but barely memorable. | © A24

Cropped Little Fockers

16. Little Fockers (2010)

Little Fockers is part of the Meet the Parents franchise, but this time, Alba’s character, Andi Garcia (not the actor), is the mischievous pharmaceutical rep. While Alba brings some much-needed energy to the sequel, the film itself doesn’t quite live up to the original's charm. She’s flirty, fun, but ultimately, the role is just another piece in this over-the-top, convoluted comedy. | © Universal Pictures

Cropped Idle Hands

15. Idle Hands (1999)

Idle Hands is the quirky, teen horror-comedy where Alba plays the love interest of a guy whose hand is possessed by a demon. Yes, really. This campy 90s flick has its cult following, but Alba’s character is mostly there to look pretty and be rescued. She’s not given much to do, but hey, it’s a fun movie for what it is. | © Sony Pictures Releasing

Cropped Meet Bill

14. Meet Bill (2007)

In Meet Bill, Alba plays a department store employee who has a light-hearted flirtation with the titular Bill, played by Aaron Eckhart. The film itself is a quirky, offbeat indie that never quite finds its footing. Alba’s role is small, and while she’s charming, it feels like she’s underutilized. It’s one of those movies where you forget she’s even in it. | © First Look Studios

Cropped An Invisible Sign

13. An Invisible Sign (2010)

Alba stars as a math teacher with an eccentric streak in An Invisible Sign, a movie that tries to be quirky and inspirational but ends up feeling more awkward than anything. She’s earnest in her portrayal, but the film’s oddball tone doesn’t do her any favors. It’s a sweet attempt, but unfortunately, it misses the mark. Invisible indeed. | © IFC Films

Cropped Never Been Kissed

12. Never Been Kissed (1999)

In Never Been Kissed, Alba has a minor role as one of the mean girls in this beloved rom-com starring Drew Barrymore. While Alba doesn’t get much screen time, she nails the high school bully vibe. It’s one of her earlier roles, and though she’s not the star, it’s fun to see her in a classic 90s movie. | © 20th Century Fox

Cropped The Sleeping Dictionary

11. The Sleeping Dictionary (2003)

Alba takes on a more serious role in The Sleeping Dictionary, a romantic drama set in the jungles of Borneo. She plays Selima, a native girl who falls in love with a British colonial officer. While her performance is heartfelt, the movie itself struggles with pacing and melodrama. It’s an ambitious film, but it doesn’t quite reach its potential. | © Fine Line Features

Cropped Into the Blue

10. Into the Blue (2005)

In Into the Blue, Alba gets to show off both her diving skills and her bikini-clad physique alongside Paul Walker. It’s a visually appealing film, if you like sunny beaches and underwater treasure hunts, but the plot is thinner than a beach towel. Still, Alba looks great and holds her own in the action sequences. It’s fun, but shallow – pun intended. | © MGM

Cropped Sin City A Dame to Kill For

9. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014)

Alba reprises her role as Nancy in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, but this time around, the novelty has worn off a bit. The movie tries to recapture the gritty, stylish magic of the first film, but it feels more like a rehash. Alba gives her all as the tortured dancer with a vendetta, but even she can’t elevate the sequel to the heights of the original. | © Dimension Films

Cropped Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer

8. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)

Alba returns as Sue Storm in Rise of the Silver Surfer, but sadly, this superhero sequel is more of a letdown. While she looks the part, the script doesn’t give her much to do beyond playing the concerned girlfriend. The special effects are cool, but the movie itself? Not so much. It’s one of those "watch it for the spectacle, not the story" flicks. | © 20th Century Fox

Cropped Fantastic Four

7. Fantastic Four (2005)

In Fantastic Four, Alba makes her debut as the iconic Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman. While she’s clearly having fun in the role, the movie itself is pretty average for a superhero flick. The chemistry between the cast is decent, but the film feels dated, and the plot is as basic as it gets. Still, Alba shines in the action sequences, making the most of a mediocre script. | © 20th Century Fox

Cropped Mechanic Resurrection

6. Mechanic: Resurrection (2016)

Alba teams up with Jason Statham in Mechanic: Resurrection, playing a woman caught up in his high-stakes assassination schemes. It’s exactly what you’d expect – explosions, fights, and Alba playing the damsel-in-distress. While she’s not given much depth, she fits right into the fast-paced action. It’s fun if you’re into that sort of thing, but don’t expect much more. | © Lionsgate

Cropped The Eye

5. The Eye (2008)

In The Eye, Alba stars as a blind woman who regains her sight after a corneal transplant, only to start seeing creepy visions. While the premise is interesting, the execution is pretty formulaic. Alba does her best with the horror elements, but the film relies too much on jump scares and not enough on building real tension. It’s decent, but not exactly eye-popping. | © Lionsgate

Cropped The Killer Inside Me

4. The Killer Inside Me (2010)

Alba goes dark in The Killer Inside Me, a violent, gritty noir film where she plays a prostitute who gets caught up with a psychopathic sheriff. It’s a disturbing role, and Alba gives a raw, vulnerable performance, but the film’s extreme violence makes it a tough watch. It’s a bold choice for her, but not one for the faint of heart. | © IFC Films

Machete MSN

3. Machete (2010)

In Machete, Alba plays an immigration officer in Robert Rodriguez’s over-the-top, blood-soaked action flick. The movie is ridiculous in the best way possible, and Alba fully leans into the campy, grindhouse vibe. It’s not a role that requires much depth, but she fits right in with the crazy action and delivers some memorable moments. | © 20th Century Fox

Cropped Honey

2. Honey (2003)

Honey sees Alba as an aspiring dancer who overcomes obstacles to make it big. It’s a classic feel-good, rags-to-riches story, and while it’s a bit cheesy, Alba’s charm carries the movie. It’s not groundbreaking cinema, but it’s an early showcase of her leading-lady potential. If you’re into dance movies, this one’s got all the right moves. | © Universal Pictures

Cropped Sin City

1. Sin City (2005)

Alba’s role as Nancy in Sin City is one of her most iconic. The black-and-white, hyper-stylized world of Frank Miller’s graphic novel comes to life, and Alba brings a mix of vulnerability and strength to her character. She’s not the central focus, but she leaves a lasting impression in this dark, gritty masterpiece. | © Dimension Films
