Why buy one game for $70, $80 Dollars, when you can get hundreds for just a few bucks a month.

The age of buying games has come to an end. It just doesn't make sense to buy a game for a lot of money, when there are alternatives that offer hundreds of games for a fixed price each month.
But the big question is... Which subscription is the best? It definitely greatly depends on which platform you're playing on, and what kind of game you like.
So, to get a clear image of the benefits that all major gaming subscriptions have to offer, lets check them out!
Which Gaming Subscription Is The Best?
Xbox Game Pass

Tier | Price | What You Get |
---|---|---|
PC | $11.99/Month |
|
Console | $14.99/Month |
|
Ultimate | $19.99/Month |
|
Let's start with my personal favorite, the Xbox Game Pass. Don't let the name fool you, the Game Pass isn't only made for the Xbox console, but also offers a great variety of game for Microsoft users.
Other than many other game subscription services, the Xbox Game Pass often features new games day one, so you can play then right as they get released.
Besides that, the Game Pass will also give you a bunch of benefits and free goodies for Riot titles such as Valorant or League of Legends.
PlayStation Plus

Tier | Price | What You Get |
---|---|---|
Essential | $9.99/Month |
|
Extra | $14.99/Month |
|
Premium | $18.99/Month |
|
If you own a PlayStation console, you might want to look into this one. I personally have been using the PS+ service for several years now and am very happy with it. If you get the “Essential” package, you get three monthly games for free and access to online multiplayer. With PlayStation Plus Extra, you get everything from the essential tier and on top of that you get access to a big game catalogue and Ubisoft+ classics.
Now last but not least, for the ones among you who like it fancy and who are into retro gaming and old PlayStation titles, you should check out PS Plus Premium.
PlayStation Plus Premium builds on Extra by adding access to a catalog of classic PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games, and cloud streaming for PS1, PS2, PSP, and PS4 games.
Nintendo Switch Online

Tier | Price | What You Get |
---|---|---|
Nintendo Switch Online | $7.99/Month |
|
Expansion Pack | $39.99/Year |
|
Price: $7.99/Month (Nintendo Switch Online), $39.99/Year (Expansion Pack)
With Nintendo Switch Online, you'll gain access to online games to be able to play with your friends, over 170 classic games for the NES, Super NES and GameBoy, and some goodies such as free game trials and vouchers.
If you're a fan of classic Nintendo games such as The Legend of Zelda or the old Super Mario games, you should take a look at the additional expansion pack for Switch Online.
The way the expansion works is that you can access emulators for the Nintendo 64, GameBoy Advance, and the SEGA Mega Drive with classic titles already built in.
With the Nintendo 64 emulator, for instance, you'll be able to play Nintendo classics such as Super Mario 64 or Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask. Pretty neat if you ask me :)
Apple Arcade

Tier | Price | What You Get |
---|---|---|
Apple Arcade | $6.99/Month |
|
If you're an Apple User, whether you own an iPhone, an iPad or a Mac, you might want to look into the Apple Arcade.
Here, you get unlimited access to a catalog of over 200 premium games for a monthly fee. The best thing is that you get access to these games across all Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and even Apple Vision Pro with no ads or in-app purchases.
The Apple Arcade offers games like Balatro, Sonic Dream Team, Slay the Spire, Disney Dreamlight Valley and many other amazing mobile hits for a relatively small price (considering its Apple after all... o_O).
EA Play

Tier | Price | What You Get |
---|---|---|
Play | $5.99/Month |
|
PlayPro | $16.99/Month |
|
EA Play offers access to a library of EA games and trials of new releases, while EA Play Pro adds unlimited access to premium editions and in-game rewards. EA Play Pro is quite expensive, considering that it only offers a library of around 150–160 games.
Of course, it really depends on what type of games you would like to play, but if it comes to the price, the Xbox Game Pass seems like a more efficient option for $11.99/Month and around 400 games.
