A Reddit user wrote Valve CEO Gabe Newell an email and actually got access to play Deadlock.

Deadlock has been in Alpha for a couple of weeks now and is already making waves, with its combination of classic MOBA and third-person shooter gameplay.

One Reddit user accessed the Deadlock Alpha in a rather unconventional way.

Gabe Newell – The King

So, getting access to Deadlock right now isn't the easiest task to accomplish.

You can only join up per invite, which is hard, if you don't have any friends who have access to the game.

This particular Reddit user managed to circumvent this process by going directly to the source.

The user ivyx123 uploaded a post to the Deadlock subreddit with the title:

Gabe reads his email.

In the post, you can see a screenshot of an email conversation between ivyx123 and Valve CEO Gabe Newell.

Ivyx123 adds:

Just wanted to give a quick shoutout to Gabe Newell! I recently reached out about the Deadlock game and was thrilled to get a response from him. It's awesome to see such personal engagement from the big names at Valve.

It's definitely surprising to see Valve's top dog reply to an email like this, and we couldn't be happier for the lucky, new Deadlock player.

What do you think? Have you tried Deadlock already?
