15 Best Psychological Horror Movies of 21st Century
8. Season 8
Season 8 is terrible, and you won't miss anything if you stop watching it. The writing was terrible, and the characters you knew and loved became a shell of their former selves. There were a few decent episodes, but most of it just seems like terrible fan fiction. | © HBO
7. Season 7
Season 7 is visually stunning but narratively uneven, serving as a poor lead-up to the showdown. The pacing is frantic: with soaring dragons, raging battles, and newly formed alliances, but at the cost of logic and character development. | © HBO
6. Season 5
Though Season 5 has some highlights, it feels like it's biding time for bigger events to come. The struggle for ruling Meereen takes center stage, but it lacks fire and unexpected twists from earlier seasons. | © HBO
5. Season 6
The pieces on the chessboard finally start to move in Season 6, but the payoff feels a bit weak compared to previous seasons. The Battle of the Bastards is one of the best moments in the series, but even its glory can't compensate for weak plotlines throughout the season. | © HBO
4. Season 2
After the commercial success of Season 1, the second season received massive coverage by media and fans. Peter Dinklage's Tyrion is the season's MVP, but there's not a single character without meat on their bones. | © HBO
3. Season 3
In Season 3, the characters' adolescence turns into fully-grown adults. They have learned full life lessons and fully established who they are and who they’re going to be. Everything after this is just an extension of what’s firmly established in this season. | © HBO
2. Season 1
The first season shines by remaining faithful to George R.R. Martin's rich storytelling. It offers a thoughtful, character-driven narrative that closely aligns with the books, focusing on complex characters and political intrigue. | © HBO
1. Season 4
Season 4 still holds up as the season with most fans: it's both entertaining and has so many highs and dramatic moments. It also was the peak of many characters, starting with Tyrion – MVP yet again.
