Only Murders in the Building's fourth season might still be running, but that didn't stop Hulu from making fans rejoice in anticipation; Season 5 has already been greenlit!
We might still be in the middle of the fourth season (and it's still on until the end of October), but according to Variety, this isn't the last we'll see of the podcast trio from Only Murders in the Building. Reportedly, Season 5 has already been greenlit!
With the plot twists in the current season still going on for a few weeks, it's obviously hard to predict where the story might be going – speaking from experience and indicators from past seasons, we do feel confident in making some predictions regarding other things, though.
Only Murders in the Building Season 5: Release Date Prediction
The Hulu show has been surprisingly consistent in the past with its release schedule – for four years in a row now, we got the debut episode of a new season in the summer months and ten episodes per season to enjoy.
It's not rocket science to guess that Season 5 will follow a similar schedule. So, we're pretty confident Only Murders in the Building's fifth season will debut in August 2025 again and – huge surprise – will consist of another ten episodes.
Only Murders in the Building Season 5: Returning Cast
Obviously, with the fourth season still running, it's kind of hard to make sure everyone makes it out alive – you never know which twists and turns the plot takes (knock on wood, though – I don't know if I could take some characters leaving for good).
As we don't want to spread misinformation, we'll keep it straight to the point. As long as Season 4 doesn't take a huge, devastating risk and offs one of our beloved main characters, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short will all return to reprise their roles as the podcasters and crime solvers of our hearts. Chances are Hulu won't risk separating the trio, though – the chemistry is just too good and already renewing the show for another season, knowing full well only two of them continue the story, seems a little far-fetched to us.
One thing fans wish for, though? Keep Meryl Streep as a regular, we're begging you!
What do you think of season 4 so far and on a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you for the fifth season? Let us know in the comments!
