To be able to fix a problem, you first have to understand it, right? So, what exactly is this error code? Basically, there are multiple reasons for this error to occur. Unexpected Error with Login Session Fix

Now that we know what the error is and why you can't log in properly, let's find some solutions to the problem. This is how you can fix the Unexpected Error with Login Session error.

Restart The Client

This is also the solution Riot describes on their official support page. Not only will you have to restart the client, but you will really have to make sure that it is completely turned off before restarting your LoL client once more. Follow the steps below to do just that.

  1. Press Alt+F4 on the client and click "sign out" not "exit"
  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manger and close all instances of RiotClientServices.exe and all instances of LeagueofLegends.exe
  3. Reopen the League of Legends Client and log in again

With these steps, you'll be able to completely restart the client. Hopefully, it works again after this, but if you're still having issues, don't worry we have a few more solutions for you up our sleeve.

Check Background Applications

If you've got other applications open in the background, make sure that those are closed as well. Steam? Close it. Epic Games Store? Close that as well. Also, the program KillerServiceNetwork.exe – if you have it – can also be closed since it takes up huge amounts of bandwidth which could cause the error.

So, if you know you have another application open in the back that is currently prioritizing bandwidth to your online streams, then make sure to close those applications and make sure you have the best internet connection possible – sorry to anyone living in Germany...

Keep the LoL Client Up-to-Date

This is a no-brainer, but we will still put it in here because there are some of you out there – looking at your Susan – who do not keep their client up to date. Sure, Riot usually installs the newest update automatically when you open the client, but sometimes even Riot makes mistakes – shocking, I know – and then we need to patch it ourselves.

So, there you have it, multiple ways to fix this pesky error code. Hopefully, you'll be able to get into the game. With a new event taking place with a potential Janna Prestige Skin up for grabs, or even the huge Spirit Blossom Riot seems to have planned for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship.
