It has been a wild year for iconic North American team Cloud9. They had an impressive run in the spring, barely missed the MSI playoffs, then slumped in the summer but still managed to secure a Worlds spot. There, they lost a tiebreaker in the play-in group but had a heroic second week to get out what looked like a doomed group, once more becoming NA's most successful team at the World Championship. The crazy ride does not end with Worlds, however - their transfer season looks to be spicy as well.

New rumors have pointed towards the team management looking towards several South Korean players. The first to be named was former Liiv SANDBOX top laner Park “Summit” Woo-tae, who formerly played on Afreeca Freecs and the SANDBOX Gaming team that became Liiv SANDBOX. He will likely be joined by Kim “Winsome” Dong-keon, who this year played on semi-amateur team Shadow Battlica.

Another rumor, reported by Dot Esports, points towards the NA team wanting to sign T1 Challengers AD carry Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol. This is quite interesting as Cloud9 still has Zven on contract until the end of 2023, so another AD Carry - and an import player - could be a problem. This might be pointing towards C9 being open to offers for their star AD carry.

If all these transfers are confirmed, the three players will join Blaber and Fudge, who got their contracts extended. Despite three of the players being Korean, Winsome's US citizenship allows C9 to field all three of them at once under LCS rules.

Meanwhile, the support staff is still in flux. Alfonso "Mithy" Aguirre Rodríguez, the team's head coach, is reportedly joining 100 Thieves. Cloud9 is likely to elevate some of their lower-ranking support staff, but are rumors that the team is also interested in recruiting analyst and T1 streamer Nick “LS” De Cesare, sources said.
