As usual, Asmongold doesn’t hold back.
In a recent stream, Asmongold once again shared his thoughts on Frogan’s declining success, and the verdict was far from flattering.
Asmongold Weighs In on Frogan’s Declining Success
The controversial streamer Frogan has made headlines multiple times in the past. From wishing PTSD on US soldiers to breaking down in tears live on stream over not making enough money, she has repeatedly found herself at the center of online backlash.
One of her most outspoken critics has been fellow streamer Asmongold. He previously commented on the situation when Frogan cried during a livestream, and he has now returned to the topic. In a recent broadcast, Asmongold discussed Frogan’s declining success and pointed to what he considers the reasons behind it:
"Imma be honest, I think the reason why she was successful is that people used her as a token minority."
According to him, the fact that she wears a hijab was the reason people wanted to collaborate with her:
"You really got used as a mascot for people that were looking to make themselves look like they cared about minorities."
He is not the only major streamer to comment on her. xQc has criticized her in the past as well, while Hasan Piker has repeatedly defended her. She also serves as a moderator in Hasan’s chat.
In the end, success on Twitch doesn’t come from wearing a hijab or being part of a certain religion. People tune in because they want to be entertained. So maybe they just got tired of her content? Ragebait content isn’t exactly known for its longevity in terms of audience engagement. So it seems people lost interest in the occasional controversial political statement as well as in the emotional breakdowns over not making enough money on Twitch. That might work for a clip, but not necessarily for a long-term streaming career.
