For many of his viewers, Asmongold has been a staple in the gaming and streaming world for years. However, in recent weeks, the Twitch star stepped back to focus on a very personal matter. A few days ago, he shared sad news with his community: his father has passed away.
Asmongold Announces Heavy Loss
At the beginning of September, the U.S. streamer, whose real name is Zack Hoyt, had already announced that he would take an indefinite break. The reason was his father’s severe illness – he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was also suffering from liver failure and the aftereffects of pneumonia.
During this time, Asmongold hardly left his father’s side, even sleeping on the floor of the hospital room, and openly stated that he wanted to devote his full attention to his care.
But the sad reality soon came: on September 18, Asmongold announced on the platform X that his father had passed away a few days earlier. In a moving statement, he wrote: “It’s hard for me to even find the words for the emptiness he leaves behind. He was my last family member in the state, and I was with him until the very end.”
He said he would “endure,” but he didn’t believe he would “ever be the same.” His message ended with the words: “I love you, Pa.”
