However, instead of sharing typical travel vlogs, Australian YouTuber, photographer, and host Currently Hannah takes a completely different approach.
By exploring sights far off the beaten path and taking on all sorts of peculiar gigs, she has carved out a unique niche. In a recent Instagram post, she shared a breakdown of her unconventional career highlights, wryly remarking that, unlike many expats, her resume does not include teaching English.
Big in Japan
The popular "place vs. place" meme is proof that those who visit Japan often experience a certain magnetic energy, an intense topophilia that makes them fall deeply in love with the local culture.
The content creator, whose real name is Hannah Price, explains that she had a similar experience, finding herself drawn to the country despite knowing very little about it initially. After successfully auditioning as a performer, she made the leap to move there in 2012 and has only grown fonder of it ever since.
Admitting that she hadn't previously shared many details of her "Japan-lore," Hannah's viral post pulled back the curtain on her weirdest and most unique jobs. Her eclectic career began at the tender age of 19 as a performer at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, later expanding into stunt work and bizarre commercial acting.
She is also no stranger to the skies, having worked as an aerialist and a contortion teacher, alongside playing Rapunzel for Tokyo Disney. When the pandemic hit and live entertainment paused, she successfully pivoted to the screen, landing a role as a TV host for an Australian travel broadcast.

As Hannah's retrospective went viral, fellow content creators who migrated to Japan were left thoroughly impressed. Cosplayer and digital creator PeachMilky, also known by her first name Sophie, expressed absolute astonishment in the comments, particularly amazed by the revelation that Hannah had once starred as the live-action stunt double of Claire Redfield from Resident Evil.
It highlights a fascinating reality of the expat creator space: the cinematic travel channels we watch today are often shaped by years of working firsthand inside Japan's most unique, behind-the-scenes entertainment industries.
