After years of a strained relationship between former child stars Drake Bell and Josh Peck, they have now reconciled. And Bell is even talking about a possible reboot.

Warning: This article discusses sensitive topics that some readers may find triggering.

A Reunion After Almost 20 Years

Drake & Josh was a Nickelodeon-produced series that ran for four seasons from 2004 to 2007. As funny as the show was, there were serious issues behind the scenes that ultimately led to a distance between the main actors.

The series, like Victorious and iCarly, was created and produced by Dan Schneider. As we now know, Schneider harassed, sexualized, and discriminated against employees on set, including minors - these issues are addressed in the documentary Quiet on Set.

Unfortunately, he was not the only one with such behavior. Dialogue coach Brian Peck, who is not related to Josh Peck, also sexually abused Drake Bell. He was arrested for this in 2003 and sentenced to only 16 months in prison. At the time, Bell’s identity as a victim was not disclosed to protect him as a minor. It was only in Quiet on Set that he spoke about it publicly.

Bell struggled with long-term mental health issues, and after several legal troubles, he checked into a rehab facility while Quiet on Set was still being filmed. Josh Peck also went through alcohol rehab at the age of 21.

Perhaps it was because both main actors had to navigate their careers while dealing with mental health struggles, or maybe it was just a natural drifting apart - but after the show ended, the two had little to do with each other. However, both have stated that after Quiet on Set, Peck reached out to Bell privately to support him during this time.

In the public eye, however, they had their first extended conversation only now, in March 2025, on Peck’s podcast Good Guys. During the episode, they discussed both the abuse on set and their falling out. Following their reunion, Bell has now commented on the possibility of a Drake & Josh reboot.

Is A Drake & Josh Reboot Coming?

In an interview with E! The Rundown, Drake Bell was asked about the possibility of a Drake & Josh reboot. Here’s his response:

We would love to do something. There’s been talk throughout the years – especially when all the reboots were coming back. - Drake Bell

Additionally, the actor already has an idea for the first scene of the reboot: He wants it to start with him approaching Josh to ask if he’d like to be part of the reboot – with Josh initially resisting the idea.

So, the two main actors would already be on board. However, everything else would still need to be organized – who will produce the series, what will it be about, which of the old cast members will return, will there be new characters, etc.

However, iCarly was already rebooted, and it's also an old Nickelodeon series originally created by Dan Schneider, so it seems within the realm of possibility. And if Miranda Cosgrove and Jerry Trainor were willing to return for an iCarly reboot, the two of them might also agree to reprise their Drake & Josh roles as the little sister Megan Parker and the crazy movie theater employee "Crazy Steve."

What do you think about the reunion of these two child stars? Would you be excited for a Drake & Josh reboot?
