Storm De Beul, a 22-year-old YouTuber, tragically passed away in a snowstorm while exploring Lapland, Finland.

Known for his love of the wilderness, he shared videos of his adventures in Norway and Finland on his small but growing YouTube channel Storm/StormOutdoorsy, focusing on survival techniques, bushcraft, and stunning Nordic landscapes.

His content resonated with a dedicated community, with his videos typically reaching around 15,000 views.

"Tonight, it’s going to get worse.”

Local authorities discovered De Beul's body on October 30, 2024, some distance from his campsite.

He had sent final messages to loved ones before his death, including one to his grandmother, where he assured her he was fine despite the worsening snowstorm.

In a video sent to a friend, he acknowledged the storm’s increasing severity, stating, “Tonight, it’s going to get worse.”

His frozen body showed signs of a fall, with a broken nose and frozen limbs.

Father’s appeal for help

Severe weather conditions during the recovery operation made it difficult for rescuers to secure the site, and De Beul’s camera equipment remains missing.

His father has since reached out to the public, seeking assistance in locating the gear, which he believes could shed light on his son’s final moments.

“His videos are a priceless legacy for us. But now his camera is there, somewhere in the snow, full of images of his very last trek. I would love nothing more than to get it back,” he said.

Despite the slim chances of recovering the equipment, his father remains determined to try, emphasizing the importance of preserving De Beul’s final memories for his grieving family.
