AI is already deeply integrated into almost everything YouTube does – from personalized recommendations to detecting unwanted content. In the future, it will take on even more tasks.

YouTube 2025: More AI, More Control, More Reach

New tools are in development to automatically suggest video ideas, titles, and thumbnails, making creators' workflows easier. The automatic translation of videos into different languages is also being expanded and will soon be available to all YouTube partners.

Another key project: better control over AI-generated content. A test group of "influential personalities" will try out new features that allow them to track and manage how AI represents them on the platform.

YouTube also aims to enhance age estimation using machine learning to filter content more effectively for younger users.

YouTube on the TV Screen

In the U.S., YouTube is now watched more on TVs than on smartphones. The platform is responding with new features. A "Second-Screen" function will allow users to watch a YouTube video on their TV while interacting with it on their phone (Because what could be better than staring at two screens after a long day?).

Live comments on events are also becoming a bigger focus. Last year, YouTube tested the "Watch With" feature for NFL games – more sports and content are expected to follow soon.

Podcasts are gaining traction as well: According to YouTube, it is now the most-used podcast app in the U.S.. As a result, creators will soon get better monetization options and tools to expand their reach.

More Revenue Streams, More Fan Interaction

YouTube remains the most profitable platform for creators – thanks to ads, premium subscriptions, and shopping features. In the future, new brand partnerships will provide even more revenue opportunities.

Fans will also have more ways to support their favorite creators. The "Hype" feature is being expanded: Viewers who "hype" a video within the first seven days after its release will help boost it in special rankings. The most dedicated fans can even earn a unique badge.
