According to the video, it all started when she stayed at a friend's apartment in New York. The creator learned that her friend's neighbor had passed away more than two years ago and that his apartment has not been cleaned out.
The two friends then got the crazy idea to not only set foot on the property but also to film themselves searching through their possessions…
The Immediate Backlash
To say that Kylie Skeff's video did not sit well with the public would be an understatement: her clout-chasing provoked multiple commenters into giving her a dressing-down, comparing her actions to “grave robbery.” In an attempt to clear her name, Skeffington deleted virtually all her social media accounts along with the infamous video. Needless to say, the damage had already been done at that point, and several people have reposted the video.
Although people unanimously agree that filming such a video is invasive and morally wrong, it is still unclear whether the TikToker faces legal consequences.
Even if legal consequences fail to materialize, backlash has followed Skeffington straight to her workplace. When people discovered she worked at a jewelry company, they launched a coordinated brigading campaign against its social media pages.
