KPop Demon Hunters has gone up, up, up to the top of the Netflix charts.

It was already becoming more and more obvious that KPop Demon Hunters will sooner or later become Netflix's most successful film of all time, as we discussed in our last article (If you are interested in the movie itself and why it is so unique, make sure to check it out).
And now, it is official.
A Golden Moment
With 236 million total views the animated musical produced by Sony Pictures Animation became Netflix’s most popular film of all time, surpassing Red Notice.
It doesn’t stop there though.
At The Top Of The Box Office
After a special sing-along event started to play in theaters across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK on Saturday, Aug. 23 and Sunday, Aug. 24, it quickly sold out more than 1,000 screenings.
With an estimated gross of $18 million, it topped the weekend box office charts in North America.
Now, fans can even enjoy the sing-along version of the film on Netflix.
Still Slaying The Billboard Charts
It is safe to say that the soundtrack is part of the movies huge success.
It even is considered the highest-charting soundtrack of the year and writing history, by being the first ever soundtrack with four simultaneous Top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
The track Golden from Huntri/x is on top of the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of August 30, 2025, just like it was for the previous week.
Will There Be A Sequel?

There are rumors about KPop Demon Hunters getting a sequel, though nothing was confirmed officially.
Still, Sony and Netflix are said to be in early talks for a sequel, which sounds logical considering the massive success of the movie.
We will keep you updated with more information on a possible sequel, so stay tuned!
