The YouTube star has built an entire community in Ghana to help children leave illegal labor on cocoa farms and attend school instead. Called Abna Dakwa Village, the project took about a year to develop, followed by eight months of construction.

The village was built on previously empty land and is designed to provide families with housing, clean water, and access to education.
It is also connected to MrBeast's broader efforts surrounding the cocoa industry through his chocolate brand, Feastables.

Village Includes School, Clinic and Free Housing

Abna Dakwa Village includes a school capable of accommodating more than 300 students, as well as a medical clinic, community marketplace, and 10 free homes for teachers.

The community is also equipped with an off-grid solar power system and two water towers providing access to clean drinking water.
A farm with fish tanks is another part of the project.

One of the main goals is to make sure children have a reason to stay in school instead of working on cocoa farms.
Students will receive free meals every day for the next five years, with support from the Rockefeller Foundation.

The project was organized in partnership with the 1 Billion Followers Summit, the Varkey Foundation, and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.
Ten creators from around the world were also selected to travel to Ghana and help with the construction as part of the summit's “1 Billion Acts of Kindness” campaign.

MrBeast Takes Aim at the Chocolate Industry

The project is closely connected to MrBeast's long-running focus on child labor in West Africa. In 2025, he announced that he wanted to help children leave cocoa farms and return to school, saying he had spent thousands of hours researching the issue.

His latest project also comes with a direct message to the chocolate industry. In the video, MrBeast argued that major chocolate companies will only take the problem seriously if consumers show that they care about how cocoa is produced
.

The creator has faced criticism over some of his philanthropic projects in the past, with critics questioning whether large-scale charity content should be filmed and monetized.
MrBeast has defended his approach and has also pointed to his charity's work in the US. His nonprofit says its food programs have distributed millions of meals to communities in America.

For now, Abna Dakwa represents one of his largest attempts to tackle the conditions surrounding child labor in the cocoa industry.
