For his upcoming game show on Prime, MrBeast built an entire city – but as usual with his projects, there is a lot of criticism as well.

Imagine you’re in the center of a... well, not only a s***storm, but more of a s*** hurricane, surrounded by scandals about your workers sending messages to minors, mold in the food you’re selling and former producers suing you for not paying them – what's the next thing you would do in his position?

Exactly, you build your own city! And even though it might sound like Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast is only one nuclear radiation involving accident away from being a supervillain, don’t worry: It’s for his upcoming game show.

Beast Games

Beast Games will debut on Prime on December 19, promising a gigantic spectacle that has already set over 40 Guinness World Records, including “largest cash prize” and “most contestants in a game show”. The trailer teases a range of challenges featuring monster trucks, Navy SEALs, daring stunts and a massive pirate ship.

During the filming of the show, the 1,000 participants fighting for $5,000,000 will live in a custom-built city, reportedly located in Toronto.

A city for $14,000,000

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) MrBeast shared his excitement for spending $14,000,000 building the city.

In the pictures you can see a garden, complete with lawn chairs and umbrellas, as well as the contestants’ homes, centered around a glass box containing the $5 million cash. The city is surrounded by water and features a long driveway to the main building, with smaller cottages around the central structure.

No food, medication or hygiene supply

As beautiful as the newly built city might look at first glance, it seems like it's got its fair share of flaws. The show previously was described by MrBeast as “the largest game show in history” but has already faced some criticism as well. Reports surfaced alleging unsafe conditions during filming, including crew members sent to hospital due to falling set pieces and contestants experiencing "inhumane" working conditions.

Some participants also claimed that they didn’t have enough sufficient food, medication, and hygiene supplies, with delays spanning hours or even days. At least five of them are planning to file a class-action lawsuit against MrBeast and the production.

With all these new problems surrounding him, it probably won’t take long until MrBeast decides to build his own nation to compensate.
