Cristiano Ronaldo, the football icon, is taking his competitive spirit to a new arena: YouTube.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the GOAT (?), known for his relentless drive on the pitch, is now channeling that same energy into the digital world. The Portuguese star has set his sights on surpassing YouTube sensation MrBeast in subscribers.
Ronaldo, currently playing for Al-Nassr, launched his YouTube channel on August 21, 2024. In an incredible feat, he broke multiple records, including MrBeast’s record by gaining over 20 million subscribers in just 24 hours.
The Challenge Ahead
During a press conference before Portugal’s UEFA Nations League games, Ronaldo joked, “MrBeast is the one that I have to beat!” Even though he was laughing, you could tell he was serious. With 56 million subscribers, Ronaldo has a long way to go to catch up to MrBeast, who has over 313 million subscribers as of September 2024.
Ronaldo’s YouTube channel, UR Cristiano, gives fans a peek into his life off the pitch. From sharing sweet and funny moments with his partner Georgina Rodriguez to talking about his future and career, Ronaldo is using the platform to get closer to his fans. His digital presence is even bigger when you add in his massive followings on Twitter (110 million), Instagram (636 million), and Facebook (170 million).
