Over the weekend, TrilluXe was hacked and banned on Twitch for the first time in 9 years.

Africa7 Instead Of Counter Strike 2

Over the weekend, TrilluXe broadcast the Africa7 channel on his Twitch stream instead of Counter Strike.

Fans were obviously shocked, and various ideas were suggested in chat. Perhaps TrilluXe has become interested in African politics, or perhaps he was conducting some kind of viewer experiment.

The truth was far simpler. TrilluXe had been hacked.

The streamer quickly responded and posted a statement on X:

Because so many people are messaging me right now... No, of course I am not streaming Africa7 on my channel voluntarily...

The reason for the hack was, according to his own statements, a Twitch extension. The streamer had been collecting Twitch extensions for years, many of which he no longer knew and whose function he could no longer assign.

Instead of deleting them, he simply kept them, which is how the hacker/s gained access.

Thankfully, everything is back to normal, and TrilluXe has put out some advice to fellow streamers:

best get rid of everything [Twitch extensions] you don't use - That seems to be the gateway.

Great advice TrilluXe, cheers!
