If It's All About Numbers, I Should Have Won — xQc Not Happy With Streamer of the Year Winner Complaints

The Streamer of the Year Awards controversy keeps growing, with more streamers coming out of the woodwork to say it was wrong that Rivers won. Now, xQc has weighed in to critique those trying to base it on numbers alone, because if it was just about viewers he should have won for the last four years.

On August 24, Mexican streamer “Rivers” took home the Streamer of the Year award, sparking an outrage among netizens, because she apparently didn't deserve to win.

Many fans are angry, because they thought Kai Cenat or IShowSpeed would win the award, since they both had an amazingly successful year.

Now, streamer xQc had a few things to say about these awards.

“I Would Have Won Four Years In A Row”

What xQc is getting at here, happened during his recent livestream. He talked about Rivers winning the award and the controversy as a whole.

xQc made it clear that he isn't a fan of the argument that streamer's viewer counts should determine whether they win the award or not, since if that was the case, he would have won a lot more awards.

People try to use mathematics and analytics like, ‘Oh, this streamer’s bigger, so they should have won it.’ If that’s what we were judging people on, then I would have won four years in a row before last year. Literally. That is not cope. That is mathematics. Not even by a little bit, by a margin of 2.5 – 3x.

Another streamer who spoke his mind about the Rivers win was Asmongold. He thinks she only won because she was a diversity pick as a woman.

I think this is a good moment to remind everyone this is a community award that is won by vote.
