The gangster world of Birmingham comes alive once again: following the end of the hit TV series, Peaky Blinders returns as a film, hitting both cinemas and Netflix. The new movie, titled 'Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man,' promises to continue the dark and thrilling atmosphere of the series with renewed intensity.

When Is The Peaky Blinders Movie Coming Out?

The film will first be released in select cinemas on March 6, 2026, before making its global Netflix debut on March 20, 2026. Tom Harper directs, with the screenplay once again written by Steven Knight, the creator of the series. At the center is, as always, Cillian Murphy in his iconic role as Tommy Shelby, the charismatic yet dangerous leader of the notorious Peaky Blinders.

Alongside Murphy, many familiar faces from the series return, including Sophie Rundle, Stephen Graham, and Ned Dennehy. The cast is further strengthened by new talents such as Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, and Barry Keoghan, bringing fresh energy to the familiar setting. Other series alumni, including Packy Lee and Ian Peck, also reprise their roles.

The film is set in 1940, in the midst of the chaos of World War II. Tommy Shelby is called back from a self-imposed exile and faces his greatest challenge yet. According to the official logline: “With the future of his family and the country at stake, Tommy must confront his inner demons and decide whether to preserve his legacy or destroy it entirely.” The film promises not only action-packed gangster drama but also psychological depth and intense character development.

Fans Are Eagerly Awaiting The Film Project

Filming took place from September to December 2024 in the West Midlands, the home of the historical Peaky Blinders. This real-life gang shaped Birmingham in the early 20th century through illegal businesses, gambling, and brutal raids—making it the perfect backdrop for both the series and now the film.

The original series ran from 2013 to 2022 and quickly became an international phenomenon. It won numerous awards, including a BAFTA for its fourth season, and catapulted Cillian Murphy and other main actors to global stardom.

In addition to the film, it is already known that two new six-part series will follow, starting in 1953 and continuing the story of the Shelby family. Both Murphy and Knight serve as executive producers, adding extra authenticity for fans.

With The Immortal Man, viewers can expect a thrilling return of the Peaky Blinders: dark, stylish, and full of unpredictable twists exactly what made the series so beloved. Anyone who has seen the first teaser knows that Tommy Shelby won’t be returning quietly, but with full force.

Will you be watching the film? Are you a big Peaky Blinders fan?
