15 Best Netflix Originals To Binge-Watch

1-15

Nazarii Verbitskiy Nazarii Verbitskiy
TV Shows & Movies - September 9th 2026, 17:00 GMT+2
One Piece 2023

15. One Piece (2023)

Adapting Eiichiro Oda’s enormous pirate saga into live action sounded less like a production plan and more like a dare. Against the odds, One Piece preserves the manga’s elastic weirdness while giving Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hats genuine emotional weight. Iñaki Godoy leads the adventure with irrepressible optimism, and the expanded second season carries the crew into the increasingly bizarre Grand Line. It is colorful, sincere fantasy that never acts embarrassed by its talking snails, rubber limbs, or gigantic dreams. | © Netflix

One Day

14. One Day (2024)

Dexter and Emma meet on graduation night, then One Day revisits them on the same date across two decades of attraction, disappointment, and spectacularly poor timing. Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall resist polishing their characters into ideal romantic leads; both can be selfish, frustrating, and painfully recognizable. The 14-episode limited series turns David Nicholls’ familiar novel into something intimate enough to feel newly bruising. Starting another chapter is easy. Emotionally recovering after finishing the whole thing may require considerably more planning. | © Netflix

Best Documentary Series Our Planet

13. Our Planet (2019)

Our Planet delivers the breathtaking wildlife photography viewers expect from an expensive nature documentary, then quietly removes the comfort of pretending those landscapes are safe. David Attenborough’s unmistakable narration guides the journey across oceans, forests, deserts, and frozen wilderness, while the series keeps climate change and habitat loss firmly within the frame. Created with Silverback Films and the World Wildlife Fund, it balances spectacle with urgency rather than serving environmental concern as an afterthought. The planet looks magnificent; humanity’s performance review is considerably less flattering. | © Netflix

Sex Education

12. Sex Education (2019)

A teenage boy running an unofficial therapy clinic from an abandoned school bathroom should have produced a disposable parade of dirty jokes. Instead, Sex Education became one of Netflix’s warmest comedies, treating desire, insecurity, identity, and consent with unusual honesty. Asa Butterfield’s anxious Otis provides the setup, but Emma Mackey, Ncuti Gatwa, Aimee Lou Wood, and Gillian Anderson regularly steal the lesson. Its four seasons occasionally become crowded, yet the show never loses its greatest strength: allowing young people to be ridiculous without treating their problems as ridiculous. | © Netflix

Bridgerton

11. Bridgerton (2020)

Regency society receives a Shondaland makeover in Bridgerton, where orchestral pop covers accompany extravagant balls and a single piece of gossip can inflict more damage than a duel. Each season moves another Bridgerton sibling into the romantic spotlight, allowing the series to refresh its central chemistry without abandoning its deliciously meddlesome ensemble. The costumes are lavish, the casting deliberately reinvents the period drama, and Julie Andrews narrates scandal with impeccable disapproval as Lady Whistledown. Historical restraint was never invited; yearning, spectacle, and people making terrible choices in beautiful clothes were. | © Netflix

The Queens Gambit

10. The Queen’s Gambit (2020)

Chess becomes a blood sport conducted in silence throughout The Queen’s Gambit, a seven-episode adaptation of Walter Tevis’ novel that turned pawns and clocks into unlikely sources of suspense. Anya Taylor-Joy commands the screen as Beth Harmon, an orphaned prodigy whose confidence at the board cannot conceal her loneliness or addiction. The period design is immaculate, but the limited series has more on its mind than fashionable coats and symmetrical hotel rooms. Beth is not fascinating simply because she is brilliant; she is fascinating because brilliance never solves her entirely. | © Netflix

Mindhunter

9. Mindhunter (2017)

Serial killers are rarely short of screen time, but Mindhunter is more interested in the unnerving process of learning how they think. Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany play FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench, whose prison interviews help shape the emerging field of criminal profiling, while Anna Torv brings a cooler analytical edge as psychologist Wendy Carr. David Fincher’s controlled direction makes conversations feel as dangerous as crime scenes. Only two seasons were produced, which makes the binge manageable, though the lack of a proper continuation still feels criminal. | © Netflix

Cropped Ozark

8. Ozark (2017)

Blue-tinted skies, a lakeside resort, and relentless financial panic give Ozark the atmosphere of a family vacation planned by the devil. Jason Bateman plays Marty Byrde, a money launderer who relocates his family to Missouri after a cartel arrangement collapses, only to discover that survival demands increasingly monstrous compromises. Laura Linney’s Wendy gradually emerges as the more dangerous half of the marriage, turning domestic arguments into power struggles with lethal consequences. Four seasons of schemes and betrayals make this a binge built almost entirely from people solving disasters by creating larger ones. | © Netflix

Narcos

7. Narcos (2015)

Pablo Escobar’s name arrives with its own mythology, but Narcos is most gripping when it examines the machinery surrounding him: politicians, traffickers, police officers, informants, and American agents all feeding a war that nobody cleanly wins. Wagner Moura plays Escobar with volcanic menace, while Pedro Pascal and Boyd Holbrook bring weary determination to the DEA investigation. After covering Escobar’s rise and fall, the third season shifts toward the Cali Cartel without losing momentum. The combination of dramatization, archival footage, and bilingual storytelling gives this crime saga a particularly dangerous pulse. | © Netflix

Squid Game

6. Squid Game (2021)

The rules could be understood in seconds: indebted contestants play children’s games, elimination means death, and the survivor receives a fortune. Squid Game turned that brutal simplicity into a worldwide obsession, wrapping economic desperation in candy-colored sets and playground nostalgia. Lee Jung-jae makes Gi-hun far more than an interchangeable underdog, while creator Hwang Dong-hyuk continually asks how much humanity survives when money assigns everyone a price. Across three seasons, the Korean thriller expands beyond its initial arena while preserving the nasty joke at its center: the real world designed the competition first. | © Netflix

The Crown

5. The Crown (2016)

Palaces become beautifully upholstered prisons in The Crown, Peter Morgan’s six-season dramatization of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. Claire Foy, Olivia Colman, and Imelda Staunton each play the monarch at a different stage, finding distinct shades of control beneath the same carefully maintained public image. The series takes dramatic liberties and should never be mistaken for a documentary, but its real subject is more psychological than historical: what happens when duty consumes the person performing it. Even private heartbreak must wait for protocol, wardrobe approval, and the correct seating arrangement. | © Netflix

Cropped Bojack Horseman

4. BoJack Horseman (2014)

A washed-up sitcom actor who happens to be an anthropomorphic horse hardly sounds like the foundation for television’s bleakest meditation on depression, addiction, and self-sabotage. BoJack Horseman smuggles devastating character work between animal puns, show-business satire, and background jokes that reward anyone willing to pause. Will Arnett gives BoJack enough vulnerability to remain compelling without asking the audience to excuse his damage. Across six seasons, the animated comedy keeps questioning whether recognition can lead to change—or merely give a terrible person better language for explaining himself. | © Netflix

Arcane

3. Arcane (2021)

Knowledge of League of Legends is entirely optional here; emotional protective gear would be more useful. Arcane transforms the rivalry between the prosperous city of Piltover and the exploited undercity of Zaun into an operatic tragedy centered on sisters Vi and Jinx. Fortiche’s painterly animation makes every explosion, grimace, and street corner look handcrafted, while the writing refuses to divide its conflict into convenient heroes and villains. Completed across two tightly constructed seasons, the series achieved what most video game adaptations only promise: it made the source material feel larger, not merely recognizable. | © Netflix

Stranger Things

2. Stranger Things (2016)

What began with a missing boy, a mysterious girl, and some flickering Christmas lights grew into Netflix’s defining supernatural blockbuster. Stranger Things combines government experiments, adolescent panic, Dungeons & Dragons, and a parallel dimension that appears to have serious mold problems. The 1980s references provide the wrapping, but the friendship among the Hawkins kids—and performances from Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, and David Harbour—gave the series its staying power. Now complete after five seasons, it can finally be binged from the first Demogorgon encounter to the full-scale battle for Hawkins. | © Netflix

Dark

1. Dark (2017)

Keep a notebook nearby, and perhaps reserve one page exclusively for the family tree. The disappearance of a child in the German town of Winden opens Dark into a labyrinth of time travel, inherited trauma, and secrets shared among four interconnected families. Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese build an intricate puzzle without using confusion as a substitute for substance; every temporal knot tightens around grief, guilt, or obsession. Better still, its three-season story was allowed to reach a deliberate ending, a luxury that Netflix mysteries do not always receive. | © Netflix

Netflix has produced plenty of shows that vanish from memory before the credits finish rolling, but its best originals make the “next episode” button dangerously persuasive. From gripping thrillers and inventive science fiction to sharp comedies and prestige dramas, these Netflix series justify the lost sleep. Clear your schedule—watching just one episode may require more self-control than expected.
