Streamer Shoots Innocent Passerby And Is Banned From Platform Until 3024

If even the most problematic platform for streamers feels compelled to ban you from their platform for 1,000 years, you really have a problem...

During a live scavenger hunt, Kick streamer XenaTheWitch pulled out a paintball gun, fired at an innocent passerby, and was subsequently banned from her platform for nearly 1,000 years.

One Of The Most Controversial Platforms

The streamers on Kick should be viewed with skepticism anyway, because they usually end up on the platform either because they have been banned from all the others or because their content is so problematic that they know they can build up the largest fan base there – what recently happened in the context of a challenge on Kick is on a completely different scale though, and seems to have prompted the operators to take tough action for the first time.

Streamer Fires At Bystanders

On August 9, 2025, Ice Poseidon, who has caused several scandals himself or been partly responsible for others in his circle, organized a scavenger hunt through Austin, Texas. The winner would take home $30,000.

Instead of selecting participants in advance, Ice decided that anyone who felt called to do so could take part – perfect for Amaris “XenaTheWitch” Sampson, who set off with a few friends and, for some inexplicable reason, armed with paintball guns.

Shortly thereafter, thousands watched as the then 29-year-old made grand speeches as she walked through Austin and pointed her weapon at an unsuspecting passerby. As if she were in the now-banned violent video game Hatred, she chose a completely uninvolved person as her victim out of nowhere. She shot and hit the woman, who cried out in pain, in the thigh.

The woman was not part of Xena's team, did not belong to Ice Poseidon, and was not involved in the scavenger hunt in any way – she was not wearing protective clothing and suffered a painful injury and screamed:

“Yes, she [cursing] shot me. It was one of those girls.”

Instead of apologizing, Xena walked on unhindered and said dryly:

“I don’t give a [curse].”

Donor Snitches On Fugitive

However, the police did care. They searched for the streamer on charges of assault.

However, the handcuffs didn't click until four days later. Xena and her friends were traveling in a car and streaming (of course) again when they were stopped at a police checkpoint. When one of the police officers questioned Xena, someone in her chat donated to activate the text-to-voice function – if you sent Xena a certain amount of money, the AI would read a few lines of text aloud.

The donor's message alerted officials that Xena was wanted, prompting them to take immediate action and arrest the streamer.

She is currently being held at Travis County Jail without bail.

Kick Bans Streamer For 1000 Years

Whereas the Kick platform is usually rather unreasonable, ignoring questionable situations and sweeping them under the rug, this time it reacted promptly and in a surprisingly drastic manner.

A friend of Xena's made the punishment public when he called her during his own stream. He asked her, who was in custody, to explain how long Kick had banned her from the platform, which she initially seemed quite uncomfortable with. When Xena tried to evade the question so she wouldn't have to answer it directly, her friend pulled out a phone and showed the draconian but well-deserved punishment:

Your account has been temporarily suspended due to a breach of terms of service.
Reason: Violence.
This suspension will expire on 3024-08-12.

After XenaTheWitch's action in which she shot an innocent woman with a paintball gun, the streaming platform Kick decided to ban the shooter for 999 years.

Streamer Shows No Regret

What leaves many people stunned is that Xena shows no remorse whatsoever. But this makes her symbolic of the current generation of young IRL streamers. The boundaries between what can be said and claimed on the internet and what is permissible in real life are becoming increasingly blurred, and the awareness that negative consequences such as police intervention or court proceedings can be turned into financially profitable scandals makes them completely carefree.

IRL streaming thrives on pushing boundaries. How far will someone go? And are they willing to go even further if there is profit to be made? Are any of these streamers even interested in profit anymore, or is it just a nice side effect that finances an unreflective life free from fear of consequences of any kind?

Perhaps a ban lasting almost 1000 years, due to its sheer severity, is a sign that even the stronghold of problematic IRL streamers is beginning to respond to the offenses – whether this will last long and XenaTheWitch will not go live again soon, however, is questionable...
