The Kpop Demon Hunters hype is still not over and causes a major costume shortage not only in stores but in online shops as well.
Halloween is just around the corner, which means it's time to buy costumes for those who are running a little late.
But if you haven't gotten around to it yet this year, you might have to resort to a DIY this Halloween, at least if your desired costume is a character from KPop Demon Hunters.
The Most Popular Halloween Costumes 2025
The costumes that everyone will be wearing for Halloween this year are dominated by characters from KPop Demon Hunters, the most successful Netflix movie of all time.
According to Google Frightgeist, six of the ten most popular Halloween costumes for 2025 are from the viral animated movie, namely Derpy (the tiger), Baby Saja, Jinu, Mira, Zoey, and Rumi.
Out Of Stock
The hype surrounding the film has been going strong since its release and has lasted surprisingly long. The sing-along version of the movie will even be in theaters again for the Halloween weekend, and we assume a large amount of people will watch it in a costume. And now it's having an impact: both children and adults know exactly what they want to wear this year to ward off ghosts (or demons?).
The result is a shortage of KPop Demon Hunters costumes, with an international demand that is simply too high to keep up with. Many of the costumes are already sold out in stores. Online, delivery dates are usually set well after Halloween, especially for children's costumes, as these are particularly popular.
Netflix has also taken notice of this hype, which is why they displayed a modified version of the lyrics from the popular song "Golden" on a billboard: "Thanks For Dressing Up, Up, Up This Halloween."
DIY’s Might Save It
But don't let the costume drama stop you from celebrating your K-Pop and Demon Hunter Era. Instead, there are numerous DIY tutorials on social media that show you how to transform yourself into your favorite character to seal the Honmoon.
You could use make-up for the demon patterns or craft yourself a Saja Boys hat – get creative!
