At this point we might start a list of streamers that crashed their car on stream. This case is about Kick streamer SJC who hit a parked car while he wasn't paying attention to the road.
I cannot do this anymore, but here we go again. The Kick streamer SJC follows up with another streamer car crash. The only positive thing about it is that no one got injured, yet the damage could've been clearly avoided.
When Will They Finally Learn?
At this point it should be common knowledge that being on your phone while driving is a terrible idea. You lose your focus on the road, and before you know it you crash into an obstacle.
In SJC's case we can be glad the obstacle was "only" a parked car. It did not come out of nowhere, and it could've been avoided. SJC turned right and stayed in the right lane. SJC turned right and stayed in the right lane, the lane where the black SUV was parked. He had a long time to react, and there's practically no other explanation than him not paying attention.
The opposite car and his are damaged. Whether and for what he will be charged remains to be seen. From my non-professional eyes, I suspect there will be charges coming his way if he did not settle it with the owner of the damaged car.
Allegedly he left a note; what was written on it isn't confirmed yet. The source comes from Kick streamer Lord Hito who we wrote about in a recent article, so take that information with a grain of salt.
Kick And Twitch: Please Do Something
The incident sparked another debate about driving streams in a subreddit. This topic has been ongoing for months already, and people are begging Kick and other streaming platforms to finally take action against driving streams.
Some users say this shouldn't be legal, and they are right. Other people already got hurt because some streamers put content over everything. Yet the only thing Kick did in this case was to delete the VOD from SJC and with that, the evidence about this incident.
We can only criticize the platforms further, and hopefully this will bring some sort of change in the future. In the meantime, don't grab your phone while you're behind the wheel. Seriously.
What's your opinion on a ban for driving streams? Long overdue or not a priority? Let us know in the comments!
