The Spider-Man actor Tom Holland confirmed his marriage to his partner Zendaya.
Tom Holland and Zendaya have been the ultimate celebrity power couple ever since they confirmed their relationship. Rumors started circulating around 2017 because of their chemistry in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but Tom Holland didn't openly talk about his relationship for the actress until a birthday Instagram post in 2021. Now, the 30-year-old Hollywood star has confirmed their secret wedding.
What A Beautiful Wedding … Wait, It’s Just AI!
Earlier this year, wedding pictures of Tom and Zendaya began circulating on social media. The photos went viral, receiving more than 10 million likes on Instagram. The photos showed Zendaya in a stunning white gown and Tom in a sleek black suit, celebrating their love by popping open a bottle of champagne.
Although the user who posted the pictures clarified that they were AI-generated, the images sparked rumors about a secret wedding.
This occurred after Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, claimed that the two actors had secretly married in early March. However, the AI photos fueled the gossip.
“No, Because They Were All There.”
But the rumors turned out to be true, as Tom confirmed their wedding in a previous interview when the topic of AI images came up. The Spider-Man actor told Esquire UK that his grandmother asked him if she had missed the wedding because of the images. When the reporter asked if this had happened with other family members, he replied, "No, because they were all there." This was interpreted by some as confirmation that the couple may have already tied the knot.
When asked for more details, Tom responded: "That's all you'll get on that." It seems like the couple wants to keep most aspects of their relationship private.
Despite this, they seem very happy together. Tom told Esquire UK:
"We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don’t understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else. So, for me, I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I ever have been when I’m with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period. [...]"
Their marriage leaves many people wondering: What are their names now? Did Zendaya switch to "Zendaya Holland"? Did Tom Holland become "Tom Zendaya" … or just "Tom," since his wife doesn't have a last name? (Actually, she has one. She just didn't include it in her artist persona because she thought it was "cooler" that way.)
Tom Holland and Zendaya met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, in which they play Spider-Man and his love interest, MJ. The fourth part of Tom’s Spider-Man series, Brand New Day, will come to cinemas at the end of July, where we can see the couple onscreen.
