FNCS 2024 is only recently finished, and we already got a look into the new Fortnite Competitve year 2025, and it brings some big changes with it.
With the conclusion of the Fortnite Global Championship 2024 on September 7 and 8, the FNCS has wrapped up for the year, but the excitement for next year's competition has already begun.
Usually Epic Games announces the format and all information for next year's upcoming Fortnite Competitive system at the end of the year before or at the start of the new chapter, but this time Fortnite has come up with something to keep the hype around the Esport section of the game going even after the ultimate showdown of FNCS.

Peterbot and Pollo won Globals, the subsequent coverage was over and everyone had to calm down after this historic final. But suddenly, at the end of the broadcast, a short video clip was shown that really stirred up the Fortnite competitive social media scene.
In the video, Fortnite desk host Zeke goes into 3 essential changes for the following FNCS year. At the beginning, he announces a prize pool of 8 million US dollars spread over the whole year, which would be 400 thousand more than in 2024.
But then he gets to the two most exciting returning changes. Firstly, it is announced that the competitive mode will be played in trio format in 2025, after having competed in duo teams for the last 3 years.
He also mentions a very popular in-game feature in the Fortnite community that was surprisingly removed from the game in 2023 and is now set to be reintroduced in 2025 - Siphon! This feature means that when you eliminate an opponent, you automatically receive 50 shield or green healing points. This ability is particularly exciting because it allows you to turn the tide and get back in the game with just one kill, even in almost hopeless situations.
