Mario Kart fans will have a blast with this upcoming Lego set!

Lego now offers a complex, detailed set for adult builders – in the form of Mario in his racing kart!
The Lego Mario Kart Set
Lego's website states that the set has 1972 pieces and is for builders of 18 years or older – an adult set, in other words. From purchasing it for $169.99/169,99€, you get approximately 1105 LEGO® Insiders Points that can be used to order special sets on the website.
Currently, the set can be preordered and the shipping will start May 15. The measurements are as follows:
- Height: 8.5" (22cm)
- Width: 7.5" (19cm)
- Depth: 12.5" (32cm)
Lego X Mario Kart
This isn't the first collab between these brands – the Lego website offers multiple Mario Kart sets with various characters: Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Yoshi and more. It also offers sets where you can build your own racing tracks, spread items across them, and so on.
The difference is just that the other sets are for children: They're more aimed at functionality than display, not as detailed and easier to build. In comparison, the new set seems more like a valuable collectible, and this is also how the store describes it:
A delightful collectible gamer gift for adults, this Nintendo® construction set features a buildable Mario figure with a posable head and arms, sitting behind the wheel of the most iconic Mario Kart vehicle of all. Place the Standard Kart on the special stand, which allows you to show it at a dynamic angle as if it is being driven at speed or drifting in a Mario Kart race. This authentically detailed buildable model makes eye-catching LEGO® Super Mario™ decor in any fan’s bedroom, living room, game room or office. - The LEGO Group

Other Lego X Mario Sets
While the other Mario Kart sets are for children, there are other adult Super Mario sets on the Lego website such as:
As mentioned, the adult sets are always more expensive and difficult to build than the children's sets. They are also not meant for playing and instead serve decorative purposes. Still, a nice addition to the room of dedicated Mario fans.
