The new official launch live action trailer for Battlefield 6 had many fans laughing after the very first minute.

It features four familiar faces – Zac Efron, Jimmy Butler, Morgan Wallen, and Paddy Pimblett – who you would initially assume would be available as skins in the game. But Battlefield had something completely different in mind...

How Battlefield Presumably Mocks Call Of Duty

Just seconds after the celebrity soldiers are introduced, a rocket strikes in front of them. Not much of them is left, and as a group of unknown soldiers approaches, one of them asks, "Who was that?" with another one giving a very clear response: "It doesn't matter. Let's move."

Fans are now discussing whether this is a reference to Call of Duty. For quite some time now, celebrities have been integrated as soldier skins into the games‘ Battle Pass. More and more "unfitting" and "very colorful" skins have also found their way into the game, which is a major point of criticism for many fans because the skins simply don't fit the original design of the game.

The Battlefield trailer seems to be mocking this very issue, much to the delight of fans – yes, even Call of Duty fans (or perhaps especially them).

"I love how we all know exactly what this was a middle finger to." – @treywright1238
"I love how an A list actor, A basketball player, a country singer, and a UFC fighter all just agreed to get blown up in a commercial." – @TheBlackMask90
"Battlefield pre-firing Call of Duty's marketing campaign is wild." – @BluesDank
"Is the beginning a reference to CoD's ridiculous skins?! That's hilarious." – @georgjost8415

In addition to the provocative but amusing beginning of the trailer, we also see impressive images that only serve to further heighten fans' excitement. Battlefield 6 will be available to play starting October 10, 2025.
