News from the Tokyo Game Show: Black Ops 7 multiplayer maps were primarily inspired by Japan.

In a new video, Matt Sconce (Design Director, Treyarch), Brittany Pirello (Senior Producer, Treyarch), and Miles Leslie (Associate Creative Director, Treyarch) present their vision for the new multiplayer maps in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which will be released on November 14, 2025. Starting October 5, 2025 players can test the open beta and get a taste of the new gameplay.
The game will feature a total of 18 multiplayer maps at launch. The map design was primarily inspired by Japan.
"Many Maps Are Inspired By Japan"
It seems that not just one or two Japanese-style maps will be released, but rather "many". However, the exact number has not been revealed. Two of these maps have already been announced, namely "Toshin" and "Den". The focus here is on the fusion of tradition and innovation in Japan.
Toshin

Toshin represents the city of Tokyo, complete with classic neon lights, billboards, and even a cat café. From the old town to the city center, players can immerse themselves in the 2035 atmosphere of Black Ops 7.
Den

This map stands out thanks to its blend of traditional Japanese architecture and modern technology. What appears to be a typical Japanese building from the outside surprises visitors with its futuristic design and high-tech features on the inside.
We are excited to see how many Japan-inspired maps will ultimately be available when Black Ops 7 is released. Which location in Japan would you like to see as a map? Perhaps Kyoto or Takayama? Let us know in the comments!
