The Witcher, The Last of Us, and basically every Sony game in the near future is either in development or has already been adapted into a TV show. Now Quantic Dream's Beyond Two Souls is set to follow that trend with a TV adaptation of the game.

The game, starring Elliot Page and Willem Dafoe, follows Jodie Holmes who is connected to the mysterious entity Aiden. As she discovers her powers, she gets entangled in government conspiracies and supernatural threats. Here’s everything we know so far about the adaptation.

Bringing the Game to Life

Matt Jordan Smith, Head of Development at Pageboy Productions, elaborated on their approach to the adaptation: "We aim to bring fresh perspectives while staying true to the legacy of the game," emphasizing the critical role of decisions that influence not only the characters' lives but also the world around them.

Elliot Page, equally excited about the adaptation, shared: "Filming the game was one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences of my career. The story’s rich narrative and emotional depth offer us a fantastic foundation. We want to create a unique vision of the characters and their journeys that resonates with fans and newcomers." With all this excitement, we do have to say that the TV adaptation is currently in the very early stages of development.

Overcoming Challenges

One might argue that the game doesn't need a live-action adaptation, since, like all Quantic Dream games, it’s already so cinematic with very few actual gameplay elements. After all, it even premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival as only the second game ever, after L.A. Noire. Also, why this one? Beyond Two Souls is Quantic Dream's lowest-rated game on Metacritic, criticized for its one-dimensional characters, which resulted in little emotional impact.

The TV show will not be produced by Quantic Dream themselves, but by Elliot Page's own production company, Pageboy Productions. That is good news, given the fact that Quantic Dream is already in development hell with their Star Wars game, which was announced back in 2021 and seems to be going nowhere, especially after their creative head left the project at the end of last year.

Games were practically or perhaps truly in Leon's blood. In League of Legends Season 1, he was already hiding in the jungle due to the skill gap. In addition to gaming, the self-proclaimed film connoisseur is also a walking film encyclopaedia. So if you have 3-4 hours to spare, just ask him about the last film he saw....
