A fresh new look for a beloved map and a great mode to enjoy – Call of Duty fans are pretty happy right now. With Infected as a new game mode (which is already playable) and the most famous map, Nuketown, which drops on November 1, 2024, Activision is making sure there's plenty of fan service.

Old map in a new look

Shortly after the game's release, Activision announced the return of the most famous shooter map of all time in a blog post. With a new version of Nuketown, Activision is giving everyone the map they've been waiting for and according to the devs, the concept of the map will be preserved.

... ,this remaster remains extremely faithful to the original design and layout of the map, even down to the precise placement of parked vehicles and other scenery harking back to the original three-lane design.

For those who want to get a little spookier in Call of Duty this Halloween, Activision is adding the Infection mode to the game. In this mode, one player starts as an undead. The 'infected' player’s goal is to eliminate all other players. Each time a survivor is eliminated, they will become an undead, too, while the remaining survivors must keep the horde at bay until the match timer runs out.
