Imagine finding yourself in a crumbling city, the echoes of gunfire bouncing through narrow streets, with a zombie or another player potentially lurking around every corner. This is exactly the feeling delivered by Bodycam, the hyper-realistic shooter from Reissad Studio, now in its biggest update yet.

Bodycam Strikes Back With A Major Update

Bodycam is a PvP online game for PC, currently available in Early Access, and is priced at $33.32 on Steam. It is rated 18+ and has received mostly positive reviews on the platform. The game is not yet fully finished, but the community already praises its impressive realism. A console version is not currently planned, as the developers are fully focused on optimizing the PC version during Early Access.

Luca Dassier, Studio Director at Reissad, says: “This update is the first major step in delivering the stability and performance our players expect. With Unreal Engine 5.5 and a dedicated QA team, we have strengthened our development foundation and can consistently provide high-quality updates moving forward.”

More Performance, More Realism, More Content

With the switch to Unreal Engine 5.5, the game runs smoother, uses the graphics card more efficiently, and delivers impressive lighting effects and realistic shadows. New content adds even more excitement: the Village map is designed specifically for the revamped Zombie mode, a new crossbow joins the arsenal, and the Airsoft arena is ruthlessly focused on realism. The existing Wornhouse map has also been completely overhauled, while bug fixes and audio improvements make the gameplay feel noticeably smoother.

Bodycam is known for its extremely authentic simulation of weapon handling, physics, and audio. The update adds new maps, including a massive CQB Power Gun map that was extensively scanned to ensure maximum detail. The Zombie mode now features more realistic enemy AI, new enemy types, and better-paced waves.

In addition to new content, players benefit from technical optimizations: Lumen lighting and Virtual Shadow Maps deliver a more immersive experience, while CPU and GPU usage has been reduced. Critical issues such as desync, audio glitches, and UI bugs have also been fixed.

What do you think about the improvements and the update? Have you checked out the game yet, or are you planning to try it soon? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
